How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Mount Wachusett Community College requires an official general evaluation of the secondary record to US standards from an acceptable agency, such as The Evaluation Company (MWCC Pathway), CED or WES, and course-by-course evaluations with translated course descriptions for college credit.
MWCC's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Translate first, then order the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Worth knowing about MWCC
General evaluation
Of the high school record, to US standards.
Course descriptions
Translated, for college credit.
Residents too
Same rule for documents from outside the US.
MWCC requirements in detail
Translation
No separate rule for the secondary record; the agency sets it. For college credit, a translated description of each course (Catalog: international applicants).
Evaluation (F-1)
An official general evaluation of the secondary record showing the equivalent of a regionally accredited US high school diploma (Catalog: international applicants).
Agencies
The Evaluation Company (MWCC Pathway, discounted), CED or WES; others at naces.org (Catalog: international applicants).
College credit
Course-by-course evaluations to US standards with grades, the official grading system and translated course descriptions (Catalog: international applicants).
Residents and US applicants
Documents from outside the US must be evaluated to US standards by an acceptable agency (high school documentation).
Bachelor's instead of high school
An evaluation showing a foreign degree equivalent to a bachelor's or higher can replace the high school transcript (Catalog: documentation of high school diploma or equivalency).
The evaluation must show a US high school equivalent
MWCC's catalog asks international applicants for an official general evaluation to US standards of the secondary record, from an acceptable agency, and the evaluation must show the equivalent of a regionally accredited US high school diploma (international applicants).
Residents follow the same rule: documents awarded outside the US must be evaluated by an acceptable agency, and an evaluation showing a foreign bachelor's degree or higher can be substituted for the high school transcript (Catalog: documentation of high school diploma or equivalency).
For college credit, the course-by-course evaluation must show grades, the official explanation of the grading system and a translated description of each course (Catalog: international applicants). Course descriptions are often longer than the transcript; ask for one quote covering both.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
MWCC names three agencies and points to NACES for others.
The Evaluation Company, which runs the discounted MWCC Pathway, accepts outside translations only from translators certified by the American Translators Association; eVerbary can assign one on request through a free quote.
WES accepts a word-for-word translation from a professional translator, not the applicant. ECE, another NACES member, accepts any complete, word-for-word translation, including your own, and sells an $85 translation waiver. CED sets its own rule; check it before ordering.

- Secondary school transcripts
- College transcripts and the grading scale
- Course descriptions, for credit
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to MWCC
The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records, and the agency sends the evaluation to MWCC (Catalog: international applicants).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For MWCC that means we translate your records and course descriptions; the general or course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Mount Wachusett require a certified translation?
MWCC's catalog asks for an evaluation of the secondary record, not a separate translation (Catalog: international applicants). The agency sets the translation rule; WES requires a professional translator (WES).
Which agencies can I use for MWCC?
The Evaluation Company (MWCC Pathway), CED, WES, or another NACES member (Catalog: international applicants).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for The Evaluation Company?
Yes, on request through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) (TEC rule).
I have a bachelor's degree from abroad. Do I need my high school records?
No; an evaluation showing a bachelor's or higher equivalent can replace the high school transcript (Catalog: documentation of high school diploma or equivalency).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
