How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Morgan State University publishes no translation rule of its own: international freshmen need an evaluated secondary school record, transfers a course-by-course evaluation of every college abroad, and the School of Graduate Studies accepts only official NACES course-by-course evaluations, not the foreign transcripts themselves.

Morgan State's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Morgan State requirements in detail

Translation

Morgan State states no translation rule; foreign records are read through a NACES evaluation (International applicants: academic records). The translation is what the agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency: WES and ECE accept professional translations; SpanTran (The Evaluation Company) wants an ATA-certified translator.

Freshmen

Proof of secondary completion and an evaluated secondary school record; course-by-course not required; required secondary exam results must be included (International applicants: academic records).

Transfers

A course-by-course evaluation for each college abroad; with fewer than 24 transferable credits, also an evaluated secondary record (International applicants: academic records).

Agencies

Any current NACES member; ECE, WES and SpanTran named; copies of evaluations are not accepted (International applicants: academic records).

Graduate

Only official NACES course-by-course evaluations; international transcripts, diplomas, certificates and mark sheets are not admissible (graduate international process).

What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation

Morgan State accepts any NACES member and names three (academic records). WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept applicants' own.

ECE accepts a complete, literal translation, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally.

SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, accepts outside translators only if certified by ATA, or translates in-house; Morgan's graduate school links a SpanTran custom application with a discount (School of Graduate Studies: international application process). eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request.

The graduate school will not read the transcripts

Morgan's School of Graduate Studies says international transcripts, diplomas, certificates and mark sheets, or copies of them, are not admissible and will not be accepted if sent; it reads only official course-by-course evaluations from current NACES members and accepts no other providers (graduate international process). Send the translation to the agency, not to Morgan.

Undergraduate admission is less strict: freshmen need an evaluated record without course-by-course detail, but any required secondary school exam results must be part of that evaluation, so translate the exam certificates along with the transcripts (International applicants: academic records).

  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Morgan State

  • The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records; the agency sends the official evaluation to Morgan State.

  • Most undergraduate materials can be uploaded in the online application under Additional Documentation; Morgan reviews applications only when complete (International applicants: academic records).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Morgan State that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you and sent by the agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Morgan State require a certified translation?

Its admission pages state no translation rule; Morgan reads foreign records through a NACES evaluation (International applicants: academic records), and the agency sets the translation rule.

Do freshmen need a course-by-course evaluation?

No. An evaluated secondary record is required, but course-by-course is not (International applicants: academic records).

Can I send my foreign transcripts to the graduate school?

No. The School of Graduate Studies accepts only official NACES course-by-course evaluations (School of Graduate Studies: international application process).

Which agencies does Morgan accept?

Any current NACES member; ECE, WES and SpanTran are named (International applicants: academic records).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
