How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Monterey Peninsula College asks F-1 applicants for unofficial copies of all academic transcripts with a literal English translation, without saying who must translate, and also for an official transcript from the most recent school, in English and sent sealed by that school.
MPC accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary for the copies and for the credit evaluation.
The sealed official transcript from your last school is something only the school can send, and credit for college work abroad needs a course-by-course evaluation, which we do not produce.
MPC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
MPC's application checklist asks for copies of all transcripts "with literal English translation" and does not restrict who translates (ISP checklist); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation.
The official transcript of your most recent school must be translated into English and sent directly by the school (ISP page). Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

MPC requirements in detail
Translation (copies)
Unofficial copies of all academic transcripts, high school, college, technical school and English programs, with literal English translation; copies of diplomas too (checklist).
Who may translate
Not stated for the copies.
Official transcript
From the most recent institution only: translated into English, stamped, sealed and unopened, sent directly from the school (International student admissions).
Evaluation for admission
Not listed.
Foreign college credit
Official copies of the original and translated transcripts plus a course-by-course evaluation with semester units and letter grades from a credential evaluation service; MPC points to the NACES list and endorses no service (International student admissions, evaluation sheet).
Where to send
Email the application and documents to isp@mpc.edu or mail them to the International Student Programs office (International student admissions).
Admission periods
Fall: March 1 to July 1 (transfers to July 15); spring: September 1 to November 30 (transfers to December 10) (International student admissions).
Two kinds of transcript: copies with a literal translation, and one official
MPC asks for every school you attended, including high school, college, technical school and English language programs, in or outside the US.
The ISP checklist wants unofficial copies of all of them with a literal English translation, plus copies of your diplomas, and says syllabi may be requested later.
A literal translation follows the original line by line, with course names, grades and duration, which are the items MPC says it reads.
Separately, MPC requires an official transcript from your most recent institution, stamped, sealed and unopened, and its ISP page and checklist say it must be translated into English and sent directly from the school.
That one has to come from the school itself; if your school does not issue English transcripts, ask MPC's International Student Programs office how to proceed before the deadline.
Where MPC's rules differ
The checklist sets no rule on who translates the copies of your transcripts, while the same checklist and the ISP page say the official transcript of the most recent institution must be translated into English and be sent directly from the school.
We describe both and do not decide between them; confirm with isp@mpc.edu which translation MPC will accept for your last school.
Credit for college work abroad
To qualify for transfer credit, college and university transcripts must be translated and evaluated, using official copies of both the original and the translated transcripts (International student admissions).
MPC's evaluation sheet asks you to file a Request for Transfer Credit Evaluation after completing 6.0 units, with a course-by-course report showing semester units and letter grades from a credential evaluation service; the FAQ specifies a current NACES member.
Foreign transcripts cannot be used for IGETC (except the language requirement) or CSU GE certification, and English and US history courses taken abroad generally do not count.
Need a certified translation for MPC?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcripts and diploma
- College, university or technical school transcripts and degree certificates
- English language program transcripts or certificates
- Bank statement, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to MPC
Email the application with the copies of your transcripts and their translations to isp@mpc.edu, or mail them to International Student Programs, 980 Fremont Street, Monterey (International student admissions).
The official sealed transcript of your most recent school is sent by that school. For credit, the translation goes to the evaluation service with your records, and the report goes to MPC (Foreign transcript evaluation sheet (linked from mpc.edu)).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For MPC that means we translate the copies of your transcripts and diplomas; we cannot send the sealed official transcript on behalf of your school, and the course-by-course evaluation for credit comes from an evaluation service.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Which transcripts need a translation for MPC?
All of them: copies of every school you attended need a literal English translation (ISP application checklist (linked from mpc.edu)).
Can eVerbary translate the official transcript of my last school?
MPC says that official transcript must be translated into English and sent directly, sealed, by the school (International student admissions). We translate the copies; ask MPC about your last school if it cannot issue an English transcript.
Do I need an evaluation to be admitted?
It is not on the admission list. You need one only for credit, after completing 6.0 units (Foreign transcript evaluation sheet (linked from mpc.edu)).
Which evaluation agencies does MPC accept?
A current NACES member; MPC does not endorse any particular service (International students: FAQs, evaluation sheet).
Are financial documents translated too?
MPC asks for all financial documents in English (International student admissions).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
