How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Molloy requires international applicants' secondary and college transcripts to be evaluated by TEC (formerly SpanTran) or World Education Services, or by another NACES member, and the MBA asks for foreign documents with a certified English translation and a WES or SpanTran evaluation.
Molloy's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; you translate first, then the agency evaluates.
For TEC, Molloy accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary when the translator is individually certified by ATA, which eVerbary provides on request.

Worth knowing about Molloy
TEC or WES
Other agencies only if NACES members.
TEC Pathway
Custom Molloy application, discounted.
MBA: translation too
Certified English translation and evaluation.
Molloy requirements in detail
Translation
Molloy's international page states no translation rule; the evaluation agency sets it.
Evaluation
Secondary and college transcripts must be evaluated by TEC or WES; evaluations by other agencies must be from NACES members, done while the agency belonged to NACES (International admissions: I-20 process).
TEC discount
TEC built a custom application for Molloy, the TEC Pathway, so you pick the right evaluation at a discounted rate (International admissions: I-20 process).
MBA
Foreign documents must be accompanied by a certified English translation and evaluation by WES or SpanTran (graduate criteria).
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator or service; TEC an ATA-certified translator.
Transfer deadlines
Applications and transcripts by January 1 for spring and August 15 for fall (transfer criteria).
Two named agencies, then NACES
Molloy's I-20 page names two evaluators: TEC, which offers a Molloy-specific application at a discount, and WES.
Evaluations from any other agency must come from a NACES member and must have been completed while that agency was part of NACES (International admissions: I-20 process), so an old report from an agency that has since joined or left NACES may not count.
First-year, transfer and graduate applicants all follow this rule alongside their regular admission procedures.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES requires an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, uploaded in your WES account; it does not accept applicants' own translations and does not translate itself (WES).
TEC accepts an outside translation only from a translator individually certified by ATA, or sells its own certified translation (TEC, TEC translation).
If you choose the TEC Pathway, ask eVerbary for a free quote and say it is for TEC.
Graduate business applicants
The MBA criteria spell out both pieces: foreign documents accompanied by a certified English translation and an evaluation by WES or SpanTran, with up to nine graduate transfer credits possible (Graduate admissions criteria).
Other graduate programs list their own requirements on the same page; check yours before ordering the evaluation.
Need a certified translation for Molloy?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts and diploma
- College or university transcripts
- Bachelor's degree certificate, for graduate applicants
- Graduate transcripts, for MBA transfer credit
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Molloy
For foreign records, the translation goes to TEC or WES with your documents; the agency sends the evaluation to Molloy, and the Office of Enrollment Management issues the I-20 once all conditions are met (International admissions: I-20 process).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Molloy, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Molloy that means we translate your records for the agency; the TEC or WES evaluation is ordered and paid by you after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Molloy require a certified translation?
For the MBA, yes: a certified English translation with a WES or SpanTran evaluation (Graduate admissions criteria). For other applicants Molloy requires the TEC or WES evaluation, and the agency asks for the translation (International admissions: I-20 process).
Can I use an agency other than TEC or WES?
Yes, if it is a NACES member and the evaluation was completed while it belonged to NACES (International admissions: I-20 process).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?
Yes: ask for a free quote and say it is for TEC. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English, and no other languages (TEC rule).
When are transfer documents due?
By January 1 for spring and August 15 for fall (Transfer admissions criteria).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
