How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Menlo College publishes no translation rule of its own: international undergraduates send transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, and anyone who wants those units to transfer must have the transcripts evaluated by The Evaluation Company, WES or Incred.
Menlo's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

The Evaluation Company, WES or Incred.

Menlo requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the translation is what the evaluation agency needs before it can evaluate a record not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the agency. WES accepts a professional translation; TEC asks for an ATA-certified translator.
Evaluation
To transfer units: transcripts evaluated by The Evaluation Company, WES or Incred (International students).
Transcripts
From all colleges and universities attended (International students).
Programs
Degree Program with English proof (TOEFL iBT 4.5, IELTS 6.5, SAT 890 or Duolingo 101) or the Intensive English Program after a Menlo assessment (International students).
Application
Free Menlo Express Application or the Common Application; no essay or recommendation required (International students).
When Menlo needs an evaluation
Menlo's international admission requirements are short: a free application, transcripts from every college and university attended, and proof of English or an assessment interview.
The evaluation comes in only if you intend to transfer units: then your transcripts must be evaluated by The Evaluation Company, WES or Incred. Students who place into the Intensive English Program are assessed by Menlo itself.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, does not accept translations by applicants and does not translate itself.
The Evaluation Company accepts outside translations only from translators certified by the American Translators Association, or translates in-house; eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request for the languages ATA certifies.
Incred sets its own rules. For a secondary record, see high school diploma translation.
Need a certified translation for Menlo?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- College or university transcripts, for the evaluation
- Course descriptions, if the agency asks for them
- Secondary school records
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Menlo
The translation goes to the agency with your records (WES takes it in your WES account); the agency sends the evaluation to Menlo College admissions (International students).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Menlo, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Menlo that means we translate your records for the agency; the TEC, WES or Incred evaluation is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credential evaluation for Menlo?
Only to transfer units from colleges attended; then The Evaluation Company, WES or Incred (International students).
Can I use an eVerbary translation for WES?
Yes. WES accepts translations from professional translators, not from applicants (WES).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for The Evaluation Company?
Yes, on request through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English (TEC rule).
Does Menlo require an essay?
No; a personal essay and a recommendation letter are not required (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
