Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, asks international first-year and transfer applicants for official transcripts from every school and certified English translations of any not in English; transfer and graduate applicants also need a course-by-course evaluation from WES, ECE, TEC or another NACES or AICE member.
It does not say who must translate; Marymount University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation comes from the agency, and we do not provide it.
Marymount at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Marymount says "certified English translations must be submitted for any transcripts not already in English", without restricting who translates (international first-year); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

Marymount requirements in detail
Translation
Certified English translations for any transcripts not already in English (International first-year students).
Who may translate
Not stated (International first-year students).
First-year records
Official transcripts from all schools, plus official results and completion certificates from national secondary exams such as GCSE/GCE and WAEC where appropriate (International first-year students).
Transfer evaluation
A certified course-by-course evaluation of post-secondary work completed outside the US at institutions without US regional accreditation, from WES, ECE, TEC or any NACES or AICE member (International transfer students).
Graduate evaluation
An official course-by-course evaluation from TEC, WES (ICAP preferred), ECE or any AICE or NACES member (International graduate students).
Translations for first-years and transfers alike
Marymount uses the same sentence on its first-year and transfer pages: certified English translations must be submitted for any transcripts not already in English (first-year; transfer).
First-year applicants also include official results and certificates of completion from national secondary exams such as GCSE/GCE or WAEC where appropriate; translate those with the high school diploma and transcripts.
Evaluations for college work abroad
Transfer applicants add a certified course-by-course evaluation of post-secondary work completed outside the US at institutions without US regional accreditation, from WES, ECE, The Evaluation Company or any NACES or AICE member (International transfer students).
Graduate applicants need an official course-by-course evaluation from the same group, and Marymount prefers the WES ICAP report (graduate).
WES asks for a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, so one eVerbary certified translation can serve both Marymount and the agency.

What an eVerbary translation includes

- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Marymount
Send the official transcripts and their certified translations to Marymount Admissions, which prefers documents sent electronically; transfer and graduate applicants have the agency send the course-by-course evaluation (International first-year students; transfer).
On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Marymount that means we translate your transcripts and certificates; the course-by-course evaluation for transfer or graduate admission is ordered by you.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Marymount require certified translations?
Yes, for any transcript not already in English (International first-year students).
Who may translate my transcripts?
Marymount does not say (International first-year students). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets the rule.
Do transfer students need an evaluation?
Yes, a certified course-by-course evaluation from WES, ECE, TEC or any NACES or AICE member, for work at institutions without US regional accreditation (International transfer students).
Which WES report do graduate applicants need?
Marymount prefers the WES ICAP evaluation (International graduate students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
