How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Manhattan University publishes no translation rule of its own: graduate applicants educated outside the US must submit a course-by-course evaluation from an agency listed by NACES, and the undergraduate international page links a custom, discounted TEC application for the evaluation of foreign transcripts.

Manhattan University's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary, so you translate first and the agency evaluates.

If you use the TEC application, Manhattan University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary when the translator is individually certified by ATA, which eVerbary provides on request.

Manhattan University requirements in detail

Translation

Manhattan University publishes no translation rule of its own; the evaluation agency sets it.

Undergraduate

Official secondary school transcript with courses and grades; transfers send official transcripts from every college attended. TEC (formerly SpanTran) offers a custom application for Manhattan University at a discounted rate (international requirements).

Graduate

Applicants educated outside the US for their undergraduate or graduate degree submit a course-by-course evaluation, inclusive of the official transcripts, from an agency listed on the NACES website (graduate requirements).

Who may translate

Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator, ECE accepts any literal translation, TEC an ATA-certified translator.

Timing

Completed international applications usually get a decision within a week, and can get a decision and scholarship within five days; the university urges you to send the passport, financial documents and bank statement early because of visa wait times (Undergraduate international student requirements).

Fee

$75 non-refundable application fee (Undergraduate international student requirements).

Two levels, two evaluation paths

For undergraduates, the international checklist asks for an official secondary transcript showing courses and grades, plus official transcripts from every college for transfers, and links a TEC application built for Manhattan University so you choose the right kind of evaluation at a discount (Undergraduate international student requirements).

For graduate study the rule is explicit and the same across engineering, arts and sciences and the O'Malley School of Business: a course-by-course evaluation from any agency listed by NACES, which should include your official transcripts (Graduate admission requirements).

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

WES requires an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service and does not translate itself (WES).

ECE accepts a complete, literal translation from anyone, including you, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates for the report (ECE).

TEC, the agency on the undergraduate page, accepts an outside translation only from a translator individually certified by ATA, or translates in-house (TEC); for TEC, ask eVerbary for a free quote and say it is for TEC.

Fast decisions, slow visas

Manhattan University says it typically decides completed international applications within a week, but visa appointments can take far longer, so it advises getting the admission letter and Form I-20 as early as possible (Undergraduate international student requirements).

Order the translation first, then the evaluation, so the transcript item does not hold up an otherwise complete file.

Need a certified translation for Manhattan University?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

What an eVerbary translation includes

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Manhattan University, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Manhattan University that means we translate your records for the agency; the TEC or NACES evaluation is ordered and paid by you after the translation.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Manhattan University require a certified translation?

It publishes no translation rule of its own. Graduate applicants need a NACES course-by-course evaluation (Graduate admission requirements), and the agency asks for the translation.

Do I have to use TEC as an undergraduate?

The undergraduate page links a custom, discounted TEC application but does not name other agencies (Undergraduate international student requirements). Ask International Admissions if you want to use another evaluator.

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?

Yes: ask for a free quote and say it is for TEC. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English, and no other languages (TEC rule).

Which evaluation do graduate programs accept?

A course-by-course report from any agency listed on the NACES website, inclusive of your official transcripts (Graduate admission requirements).

How fast will I get a decision?

Typically within a week of a complete application (Undergraduate international student requirements).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
