How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Life University requires transcripts from international high schools, colleges and universities to come with an official credential evaluation from a NACES member, unless an approved exemption applies, and international student-athletes must have transcripts translated into English and evaluated by InCred.
Life University's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Life University requirements in detail
Translation
Life University states no translation rule for most applicants; transcripts reach it through a NACES evaluation (Prospective international students). Athletes' transcripts must be translated into English when applicable (athlete checklist).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency: WES, ECE and IERF accept outside translations.
Evaluation
An official foreign credential evaluation from a NACES member, submitted with your records, unless an exemption applies; some Canadian colleges are exempt (Prospective international students).
Student-athletes
Evaluated through InCred, generally 10 to 15 business days after all documents are in; expedited service may be available (International student-athlete checklist).
Financial
A bank letter or statement written or translated into English, with the balance in US dollars or a conversion, plus a sponsor affidavit (International student-athlete checklist).
English
Duolingo 85, TOEFL 61 iBT; the athlete checklist also lists IELTS 5.5 (International student-athlete checklist).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Life University accepts any NACES member, so the translation rule is the agency's. WES accepts a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, not by the applicant.
ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations, including your own, and sells an $85 translation waiver. IERF asks for typed, word-for-word translations and may require a professional one.
Student-athletes must use InCred, which needs transcripts translated into English when they are not (International student-athlete checklist).
Bank documents: two dates on two pages
After admission you send financial documents for the I-20.
The prospective student page says the bank statement or letter cannot be older than six months before your start date (prospective students); the athlete checklist says within five months of your entry date, written or translated into English, with the balance in US dollars or converted (athlete checklist).
Use the stricter date. eVerbary translates the statement as issued, in its original currency; a conversion can come from your bank.

Uploading the translation to Life University
The translation goes to the NACES agency (or InCred for athletes) with your records; the official evaluation report is submitted with your academic records (Prospective international students).
Financial and immigration documents go as one PDF to internationaldocuments@life.edu (International student-athlete checklist). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Life University that means we translate your records and bank documents; the credential evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member or InCred.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Life University require a certified translation?
It requires a NACES evaluation of international transcripts (Prospective international students); the agency asks for the translation, and WES, for example, wants one from a professional translator (WES).
Which evaluation company should I use?
Any NACES member; student-athletes must use InCred (Prospective international students).
Are Canadian transcripts exempt?
Some Canadian colleges and universities are on Life University's exemption list (Prospective international students).
Does my bank letter need a translation?
Yes, if it is not in English; it must be written or translated into English and show US dollars or a conversion (International student-athlete checklist).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
