How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Lakeland Community College publishes no translation rule of its own: college transcripts from outside the US must be evaluated by an accredited agency, and Lakeland prefers World Education Services and Educational Perspectives.
Lakeland's evaluation agencies, such as WES and Educational Perspectives, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your transcripts; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

Worth knowing about Lakeland
Two preferred agencies
WES and Educational Perspectives.
Seal and signature
Foreign high school transcripts must carry both.
July 15
F-1 document deadline for fall; November 15 for spring.
Lakeland requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; college transcripts from abroad reach Lakeland through an agency evaluation (International students: F-1 visa and application information). The translation is what the agency needs first.
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator; Educational Perspectives accepts a reputable translation agency or a certified professional translator (see below).
Evaluation
College transcripts from outside the US, by an accredited agency; preferred: WES and Educational Perspectives; full list at NACES; the student pays (International students: F-1 visa and application information, catalog).
High school from abroad
Final and official, with graduation date, school seal and an authorized signature; may be emailed to transcripts@lakelandcc.edu if it meets those criteria. No translation rule is stated (transcripts).
Transfer credit
From regionally accredited institutions; Lakeland may ask for catalogs, syllabi and textbook names, and foreign credit is not guaranteed (transfer credit procedures).
Deadlines (F-1)
Fall: July 15; spring: November 15; no summer admission for F-1 students; I-20 typically within two to three weeks; no application fee (International students: F-1 visa and application information).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
Lakeland names two preferred agencies in its catalog, World Education Services and Educational Perspectives (catalog), and both accept a translation from a professional service.
WES asks for an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency or another professional service, and does not accept translations by applicants.
Educational Perspectives sells its own translations as a convenience and says translations by a reputable translation agency or a certified, professional translator are accepted.
If you pick another agency from the NACES list that Lakeland links (International students: F-1 visa and application information), check its translation rule before ordering: some accept only translators certified by the American Translators Association, which eVerbary can assign on request through a free quote. See translation for credential evaluation.
High school records and transfer credit
For F-1 applicants the high school transcript is always required and must be final and official, showing the graduation date, the school's seal and the signature of an authorized school representative; if it meets those criteria it can go straight to international@lakelandcc.edu (International students: F-1 visa and application information).
Lakeland's pages state no translation rule for this transcript and no evaluation for it, so if yours is not in English, ask the international office whether it wants a certified translation with it. See high school diploma translation.
College transcripts from abroad are only for students who completed university studies outside the US.
Lakeland says most such transcripts need an independent evaluation at the student's cost, and transfer students may be asked for college catalogs, course syllabi and textbook names so the Transfer Center can evaluate credit (Transfer credit procedures).
Foreign credit may not transfer, so weigh the evaluation fee against your program.
Need a certified translation for Lakeland?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University transcripts and degree certificates, for WES or Educational Perspectives
- Course syllabi or descriptions, if the Transfer Center asks
- High school transcript, if the international office asks for a translation
- Bank or investment statements, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Lakeland
For college transcripts the translation does not go to Lakeland: it goes to the agency with your records (WES, for example, takes it in your WES account).
Official transcripts go directly from the sender to Lakeland's Office of Admissions (Catalog: admission and registration information); ask the agency to send its report there, and confirm the address with the international office.
F-1 documents, including the high school transcript, go to international@lakelandcc.edu with the online application; choose "International Student" as your student type (International students: F-1 visa and application information).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Lakeland that means we translate your records for the agency; the evaluation is ordered by you from WES, Educational Perspectives or another NACES member after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Lakeland require a certified translation?
Lakeland states no translation rule of its own. College transcripts from abroad go through an agency evaluation (International students: F-1 visa and application information), and the agency sets the rule: WES wants a professional translator (WES).
Which evaluation agency does Lakeland prefer?
World Education Services and Educational Perspectives; any accredited agency on the NACES list is named as an option (Catalog: admission and registration information, International students: F-1 visa and application information).
Do I need an evaluation of my high school transcript?
Lakeland's pages ask for an evaluation only of college transcripts from abroad; the high school transcript must be final and official with seal and signature (Transcripts).
Will my foreign credits transfer?
Not guaranteed. Lakeland evaluates credit from the agency report and may ask for syllabi and catalogs (Transfer credit procedures).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
