Kutztown University requires documents translated to English and says the translation should come from your high school or university, an academic advisor, an EducationUSA advisor, or a translator certified by the American Translators Association (ATA); it wants both the original and the English version.
Kutztown accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary when the translator is individually certified by ATA, which eVerbary provides on request.
College or university work from abroad also needs a NACES course-by-course evaluation, which we do not provide.

Translation

Both the original and the English translation are required for review (Transcript requirements).
Evaluation

Agencies
IEE and The Evaluation Company (discount links), WES, or any NACES or AICE member (Transcript requirements).
Deadlines
Official documents and evaluations by August 1 for fall and January 1 for spring, or admission is deferred (FAQ).
Country rules
Kutztown lists the secondary credential it needs for each country (Transcript requirements).
Who Kutztown accepts as a translator
Kutztown's transcript requirements page has a section on certified translation services: translations should come from your high school or university, your academic advisor, an EducationUSA advisor, or an ATA-certified translator, and both the original-language materials and the English translations are required so that the decision reflects your coursework (Transcript requirements).
It adds that many NACES or AICE evaluation companies also translate. A translation by a professional service whose translator is not ATA-certified is not on that list, so for Kutztown order an ATA-certified translator.
Preliminary decisions are made with unofficial documents uploaded to the Applicant Status Portal; documents you email are also treated as unofficial. Official records must be emailed by your secondary school, national exam board or evaluation company, or mailed sealed (International admissions FAQ).
Country rules and the evaluation deadline
The first-year steps send you to a country list that names the credential Kutztown needs, for students still in school and for graduates: for Mexico the Certificado de Bachillerato, for Brazil the Certificado de Ensino Médio, for Vietnam the senior high school certificate with all coursework and grades, for Nigeria WAEC or NECO results with the scratch card (Transcript requirements). Translate the exact credential named for your country.
For college or university records from abroad, Kutztown requires a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES company; IEE and The Evaluation Company have discounted links, WES is listed without a discount, and AICE members are also listed.
Transcript evaluations must arrive by August 1 for fall or January 1 for spring, or admission is deferred to the next term (International admissions FAQ).
Graduate applications are not reviewed until the evaluation is in (graduate). Students transferring from a US college need no evaluation.

Uploading the translation to Kutztown
Upload unofficial copies and their translations to the Applicant Status Portal for a preliminary decision; official documents come from your school, exam board or evaluation company to international@kutztown.edu (International admissions FAQ).
For a course-by-course evaluation, send the translation to the agency with your records and select Kutztown University as the recipient (Transcript requirements).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Kutztown, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Kutztown that means we provide the ATA-certified translation on request; the NACES course-by-course evaluation comes from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
