How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, requires the equivalent of a US high school diploma, and secondary school transcripts from outside the US must be evaluated by an approved transcript evaluation service; it recognizes InCred, which it strongly encourages for athletes, SpanTran/TEC, FCSA, WES, IERF and Education Evaluators International.
Jefferson College's evaluation agencies, such as WES, FCSA and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

Jefferson College requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; foreign secondary transcripts reach Jefferson through the evaluation (International students).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency; see below.
Evaluation
Secondary school transcripts from outside the US, evaluated by an approved service, showing US high school diploma equivalency (International students).
Recognized services
InCred, SpanTran/TEC, Foreign Credentials Service of America, WES, IERF and Education Evaluators International (International students).
Athletes
Strongly encouraged to use InCred, official partner of the NJCAA (International students).
English placement
Students who did not finish secondary school in an English-speaking country take the ACCUPLACER ESL test (International students).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not translate. FCSA accepts certified translations from most professional agencies and, for Spanish documents, even non-certified ones.
IERF wants line-by-line, word-for-word typed translations and may require professional ones. SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, requires an ATA-certified translator; for it, ask eVerbary for a free quote.
Athletes and the NJCAA
If you plan to play a sport at Jefferson College, the college strongly encourages InCred, the official partner of the National Junior College Athletic Association, which governs community college athletics (International students).
Whatever service you choose, the report must show the equivalent of a US high school diploma, so translate the diploma and every year of the transcript before you open the evaluation.

- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to Jefferson College
The translation goes to the evaluation service with your records; the service sends its evaluation to Jefferson College (International students).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Jefferson College, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Jefferson College that means we translate your records; the evaluation is ordered by you from InCred, TEC, FCSA, WES, IERF or EEI.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
