Illinois Central College asks F-1 applicants for a high school diploma or certificate translated into English, without saying who must translate, and evaluated by InCred or SpanTran; high school records not evaluated by one of the two are not accepted.
Illinois Central College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Because SpanTran (The Evaluation Company) asks for translators certified by ATA, eVerbary can also assign one on request; the evaluation itself is something we do not produce.
ICC at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
ICC says your high school diploma or certificate "must be translated into English" (international students) and does not restrict who translates; a certified translation from eVerbary is that kind of translation, and for a SpanTran evaluation eVerbary can assign a translator individually certified by ATA (TEC rule). Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.
Worth knowing about ICC

InCred or SpanTran

June 15
Fall deadline from outside the US.
ICC requirements in detail
Translation
High school diploma or certificate translated into English (International students).
Who may translate
Not stated by ICC; SpanTran asks for an ATA-certified outside translator (TEC).
High school evaluation
Diplomas and certificates officially evaluated by InCred (preferred for F/M athletes) or SpanTran; others are not accepted (International students).
College credit
Coursework from institutions outside the US evaluated by an approved agency such as WES or ECE (Submit a transcript: evaluation of transfer credit).
Deadlines
From outside the US: June 15 (fall), November 15 (spring), March 15 (summer); inside the US: July 15, December 1, March 30 (International students).
Funds
Bank letter within six months: $26,560 with campus housing, $35,236 off campus (International students).
Where to upload
The F-1 checklist in your ICC Application portal, after the Welcome to ICC email (International students).
A translation, then InCred or SpanTran
For F-1 and M-1 applicants ICC asks for proof of high school completion: the diploma or certificate of general education must be translated into English and officially evaluated by InCred or SpanTran, and high school transcripts that have not gone through one of these two evaluations are not accepted (international students). InCred is the one ICC prefers for international athletes.
SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, wants an outside translator certified by the American Translators Association, or it translates in-house (TEC).
If you use SpanTran, ask eVerbary for a free quote and write that you need a translator individually certified by ATA for a SpanTran evaluation for Illinois Central College.
College credit from abroad
ICC considers lower-division credit from non-US institutions recognized by their country's Ministry of Education, and that coursework must be evaluated by an approved foreign transcript evaluation agency such as World Education Services or ECE (transcripts and transfer credit).
WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator; ECE also accepts the applicant's own.
Only credits transfer, not grades, and only credits used in your current program are added; the review takes about four weeks.

Documents applicants usually translate
- High school diploma or certificate of general education
- High school transcripts, for the InCred or SpanTran evaluation
- College transcripts, for a WES or ECE evaluation
- Bank letter, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to ICC
Upload I-20 documents to the F-1 checklist in your ICC Application portal; the evaluator sends its report to ICC (International students).
For credit, official transcripts and the evaluation go to Enrollment Services, 1 College Dr., East Peoria (Submit a transcript: evaluation of transfer credit).
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for ICC, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For ICC that means we translate your diploma and records; the InCred, SpanTran, WES or ECE evaluation is ordered by you after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does ICC need my diploma translated?
Yes, into English, and then evaluated by InCred or SpanTran (International students).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for ICC?
Yes, on request through a free quote, for example for a SpanTran evaluation: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian at $34.95 per page, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian at $44.95. ATA certifies no other languages into English.
Can I use WES for my high school diploma?
For F-1 admission ICC accepts only InCred or SpanTran evaluations of high school records (International students); WES or ECE is named for college credit (Submit a transcript: evaluation of transfer credit).
What are the deadlines?
From outside the US: June 15 for fall, November 15 for spring, March 15 for summer (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
