Idaho State requirements in detail

Translation

Documents not in English must be translated by a certified translator; college documents need certified translations (Idaho State University: international undergraduate admission).

Who may translate

Secondary records

Official mark sheets and diploma, as originals or copies certified by the principal or controller of examinations in a sealed school envelope, or emailed by the school (Idaho State University: international undergraduate admission).

Evaluation

For any post-secondary study outside the US: a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, sent directly by the agency; other types are not accepted (Idaho State University: international undergraduate admission).

Recommended agencies

ECE (custom ISU application, 10% discount), IEE and WES (Idaho State University: international undergraduate admission).

Transfer applicants

Fewer than 14 semester credits: also secondary records. Course credit is reviewed by ISU faculty (Idaho State University: international undergraduate admission).

Mail

Official transcripts and evaluations are mailed to ISU and not returned (international admission).

Sealed school copies and a certified translator

For secondary school, Idaho State wants your mark sheets and diploma as originals or copies certified by the school principal or the controller of examinations, sealed in a school envelope, or emailed directly by the principal or registrar (undergraduate international admission).

Documents not in English must be translated by a certified translator. College transcripts from every institution attended follow the same rules and also need certified translations.

Documents become ISU's property and are not returned (Idaho State University: international admission). See high school diploma translation.

Study abroad: course-by-course only, read by faculty

Anyone with post-secondary study outside the US submits a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member; Idaho State does not accept other report types (Idaho State University: international undergraduate admission).

The evaluation decides admission eligibility and lets ISU faculty in each department review your courses for credit.

ECE built a custom application for ISU with a 10% discount and a free digital copy; IEE and WES are also recommended.

Their translation rules: ECE accepts literal, word-for-word translations, including the applicant's own, or sells an $85 Translation Waiver; IEE wants a certified translator, not the applicant or a notary; WES wants a professional translator or service. A certified translation from eVerbary meets all three.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

At Idaho State that means the course-by-course evaluation for study abroad comes from ECE, IEE, WES or another NACES member; we translate your records.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
