How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Golden West College asks F-1 applicants for a copy of their transcripts from high school or the highest level of education completed in their home country, and says all transcripts must be translated into English; it does not say who must translate.
Golden West College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Credit for college courses taken abroad also needs a detailed evaluation from a service on the NACES list, which we do not provide.
Golden West at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Golden West's International Student Program says all transcripts must be translated into English, without restricting who translates (ISP full-time admission); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets that rule. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

Golden West requirements in detail
Translation
All transcripts must be translated into English (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission).
Who may translate
Not stated.
Which transcripts
A copy of the transcripts from high school or the highest level of education attained in your home country; US transcripts from every school attended, unofficial accepted for admission (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission).
Where to upload
In the online application portal, as PDFs, after creating an account; the $55 fee is paid at submission (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission).
Deadlines
Fall: July 15 from overseas, August 15 for transfers; spring: December 15 from overseas (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission).
Foreign college credit
A detailed evaluation from a service listed by NACES, turned in to Golden West, then a counseling appointment (Golden West College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
Limits
Credit applies to the local associate degree (Option 1), not to Associate Degrees for Transfer or Cal-GETC (Golden West College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
A copy of your last foreign record, in English
Golden West keeps the academic file short.
The full-time F-1 page asks for a copy of your transcripts from high school, or from the highest level of education you reached in your home country, and adds that all transcripts must be translated into English.
A copy is enough at this stage: the page recommends preparing every document as a PDF, and warns that all documents are subject to review and that you may be asked for more.
If your highest level is high school, see high school diploma translation.
Some applicants have extra steps on the same page: applicants under 18 send proof of high school completion and a guardianship form; Nursing has its own application, and Cosmetology has its own deadlines (April 15 for fall, September 15 for spring) and a higher funding amount.
English proficiency can be shown with tests, partner language school levels, or prior post-secondary study in English, and the German Abitur may be accepted.
Credit for courses taken abroad
Golden West may grant credit for courses taken at regionally accredited institutions outside the US.
The catalog asks for a transcript evaluated by an accredited evaluation and translation service, and says you must use one of the services listed on the NACES site for a detailed evaluation.
You turn in the official evaluation to Golden West and then meet with Counseling.
The credit counts toward the local associate degree only, not toward Associate Degrees for Transfer or Cal-GETC certification, and the four-year school you transfer to decides on its own.
The agency sets its own translation rule; see translation for credential evaluation.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Golden West
Upload the translation together with the copy of the original in the Document Upload section of the Golden West application portal, as a PDF (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission).
For credit, the translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; you then turn in the official evaluation to Golden West (Golden West College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Golden West that means we translate your transcripts and financial documents; the detailed evaluation needed for credit comes from a NACES-listed agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Who can translate my transcripts for Golden West College?
Golden West says all transcripts must be translated into English and does not say who must translate (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Do I need to send every transcript I have?
From abroad, a copy of the transcripts from high school or the highest level you completed; from the US, every school attended (International Student Program: full-time F-1 admission).
Do I need a credential evaluation to be admitted?
No. A NACES evaluation is needed only for credit for college courses taken abroad (Golden West College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
Can foreign courses count toward an ADT or Cal-GETC?
No; only toward the local associate degree (Golden West College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
