How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Coastline College's International Student Program, which serves F-1 students in ESL, asks for complete official transcripts of all high school, college and ESL work, officially translated into English; it does not say who must translate.
Coastline College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Sealed transcripts may be mailed by you or by the school, photocopies and faxes are not accepted, and credit for college work abroad needs a NACES evaluation, which we do not provide.
Coastline at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Coastline says transcripts "must be officially translated into English" and does not restrict who translates (international students); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

Worth knowing about Coastline

Faxed copies and photocopies are not accepted.

Foreign credit does not count toward ADTs or Cal-GETC.
Coastline requirements in detail
Translation
Transcripts must be officially translated into English (Admissions & Records: international students).
Who may translate
Not stated.
Which transcripts
Complete, official transcripts of all high school, college and ESL work (Admissions & Records: international students).
Official delivery
Sent directly to International Student Admissions; sealed transcripts can be mailed by you or by the school; faxes and photocopies are not acceptable (Admissions & Records: international students).
Deadlines
Spring 2027: January 1 from abroad or for a change of status, January 15 for transfers inside the US (Admissions & Records: international students).
Foreign college credit
A detailed evaluation from an accredited evaluation and translation service; Coastline encourages a NACES-listed service (Coastline College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
Limits
Credit applies to the local associate degree (Option 1), not to Associate Degrees for Transfer or Cal-GETC (Coastline College catalog: previously completed college coursework).
Official transcripts, officially translated
Coastline is stricter on form than most Orange County colleges.
Its international students page asks for complete, official transcripts of all your high school, college and ESL work, sent directly to International Student Admissions, and says they must be officially translated into English.
Sealed transcripts can be mailed by you or by the school you attended, but faxed copies and photocopies are not accepted.
Keep the school's sealed envelope closed and send our translation alongside it, so the office can match the two.
The program is designed for F-1 students who want to study ESL. Applicants from non-English-speaking countries also show an English test score, and ESL levels are placed during the first week of classes; the I-20 is normally issued 60 to 120 days before the semester starts.
Credit for courses taken abroad
If you later want credit for college courses taken outside the US, the catalog asks for a transcript evaluated by an accredited evaluation and translation service, encourages one listed by NACES, and asks you to turn in the official evaluation and meet with Counseling.
Credit counts toward Coastline's local associate degree only, not toward Associate Degrees for Transfer or Cal-GETC. The agency sets its own translation rule; see translation for credential evaluation.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Coastline
Coastline wants the official transcripts sent directly to International Student Admissions, in a sealed envelope if you mail them yourself (Admissions & Records: international students).
Send the certified translation with them: eVerbary can mail the translation to you in a sealed, signed envelope (choose the hard copy at checkout with your address, $19.95 Priority or $37.95 Express in the US), or send it to the office by email on request.
The application itself is completed online through the Coast district portal linked from the same page (Admissions & Records: international students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Coastline that means we translate your high school, college and ESL transcripts; we cannot send transcripts on behalf of your school, and the evaluation needed for credit comes from an agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
