How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Galveston College requires all foreign transcripts to be evaluated by a NACES member, and only a general document-by-document evaluation, showing US equivalency and verifying authenticity; it recommends The Evaluation Company and Global Credential Evaluators and publishes no translation rule of its own.
Galveston College's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The translation goes to the agency first; the evaluation is something we do not produce.
Galveston College at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Galveston College accepts an evaluation from any NACES member (international students), and WES, a NACES member, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES rule), as does ECE; the two agencies it recommends want a translator certified by ATA. Galveston College requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the agency needs the translation (International students).
Who may translate
Set by the agency; see below.
Evaluation
All foreign transcripts, by any NACES member; only a general document-by-document evaluation, for US equivalency and authenticity (International students).
Recommended agencies
The Evaluation Company (GC application portal) and Global Credential Evaluators (International students).
Exception
High school transcripts from Canada, except Quebec (International students).
Delivery
Sent directly by the agency, or in the agency's sealed envelope with your application packet (International students).
Originals
Countries that do not re-issue transcripts: the original in person; copies only if certified (International students).
What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation
Galveston College's two recommended agencies are strict about translators: The Evaluation Company wants an outside translator certified by the American Translators Association or translates in-house, and GCE accepts only the issuing university, the Ministry of Education or an ATA-certified translator.
For either, ask eVerbary for a free quote and say which agency it is for.
Because any NACES member is accepted, you can also use one with a wider rule: WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, and ECE accepts any complete, literal translation or translates internally for an $85 waiver. A document-by-document report is usually the cheapest type.
Which transcripts Galveston College needs
GC asks for an official or certified transcript from every college attended and, if you have not earned an associate degree or higher, your high school transcript as well (International students).
If your country does not re-issue official transcripts, bring the original in person; copies are accepted only when certified. Translate every page you send to the agency, stamps and grading scale included.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Galveston College
The translation goes to the agency with your records; the evaluation comes to the Office of Admissions & Records, 4015 Ave Q, Galveston, Texas 77550, directly or in the agency's sealed envelope (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Galveston College that means we translate your records; the document-by-document evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
