How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Fayetteville State University publishes no translation rule of its own: undergraduate and graduate international applicants have their transcripts evaluated course by course, with a GPA calculation, by a NACES member or by Atlas Credential Evaluations.
Fayetteville State's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and send it to the agency with your records; the evaluation itself is not something we provide.

Fayetteville State requirements in detail
Translation
Fayetteville State states no translation rule; foreign transcripts are read through a credential evaluation (International admissions). The translation is what the agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency (see below).
Evaluation
Course-by-course, including a GPA calculation, from a NACES member or Atlas Credential Evaluations; same rule for undergraduate and graduate applicants (International admissions).
SAT or ACT
Required of undergraduates whose calculated GPA is between 2.5 and 2.8 (International admissions).
Where to apply
Undergraduates through the Broncoville portal or CFNC; graduate applicants through Broncoville or MBA Broncoville (International admissions).
English proficiency
TOEFL 61 (internet-based), IELTS 6 or Duolingo 94 for undergraduates, if applicable (International admissions).
What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation
Fayetteville State accepts any NACES member, so the choice of agency, and with it the translation rule, is yours (international admissions).
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept applicants' own.
ECE accepts a complete, literal translation, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally. IERF asks for typed, line-by-line translations and may require a professional one.
The Evaluation Company, another NACES member, accepts outside translations only from translators certified by ATA; eVerbary can assign one on request through a free quote. Atlas Credential Evaluations is also accepted; check its own translation rule before you order.
The evaluated GPA matters for admission
Fayetteville State asks for a GPA calculation in the course-by-course report, and for undergraduates that number decides whether SAT or ACT scores are needed: a calculated GPA between 2.5 and 2.8 triggers the test (International admissions).
Because the agency computes the GPA from the grades on your translated transcript, make sure every year, every subject and the grading scale are translated, including failed or repeated courses.

Uploading the translation to Fayetteville State
The translation goes to the evaluation agency with your records, not to Fayetteville State; the agency sends its course-by-course report.
Apply through Broncoville or CFNC (undergraduate) or Broncoville / MBA Broncoville (graduate) (International admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Fayetteville State that means we translate your records for the agency; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA is ordered by you from a NACES member or Atlas.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Fayetteville State require a certified translation?
It publishes no translation rule; it requires a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member or Atlas (International admissions). The agency sets the translation rule; WES, for example, wants a professional translator (WES).
Which evaluation agency should I use?
Any NACES member, or Atlas Credential Evaluations (International admissions).
Does the evaluation need a GPA?
Yes: a course-by-course evaluation including GPA calculation (International admissions).
Is the rule different for graduate applicants?
No. Graduate applicants also need a course-by-course NACES or Atlas evaluation with GPA (International admissions).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
