How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Emmanuel College requires transcripts not in English to be translated into English by a certified translator, and applies the same rule to recommendation letters.

Emmanuel College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

Transfer transcripts from abroad also go to a credential evaluator, and for graduate programs Emmanuel asks that the translation and the course-by-course evaluation both be completed by a NACES member, which is not a service we provide.

Emmanuel at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Emmanuel's international page says transcripts not in English must be translated into English by a certified translator (international students), so a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary meets its undergraduate rule. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Emmanuel requirements in detail

Translation (undergraduate)

Transcripts not in English translated into English by a certified translator (International students).

Who may translate

A certified translator (International students).

Recommendations

Written in English or translated by a certified translator (International students).

Secondary transcripts

All courses and grades; national exam results included but not a transcript on their own (International students).

Transfer evaluation

Review by an official credential evaluator: SpanTran, WES, ECE or CED (International students); the transfer page calls a NACES review recommended (transfer).

Graduate

Translation and course-by-course evaluation completed by a NACES member (graduate how to apply).

Where Emmanuel's pages differ

The international students page says transcripts from institutions outside the US must be reviewed by an official credential evaluator, listing SpanTran, WES, ECE and the Center for Educational Documentation (international students).

The transfer students page says such transcripts are recommended to have a formal review by a NACES member (transfer students). Ask admissions which applies to you before you order an evaluation.

Undergraduate and graduate rules

For undergraduates, the certified translation covers secondary and college transcripts and any recommendation letter not in English; transfers add a Dean's Evaluation from their current college and catalog descriptions of every course for the transfer credit evaluation (International students).

For graduate programs, Emmanuel's rule is stricter: the translation and the course-by-course evaluation must both be completed by a NACES member (graduate).

Graduate applicants should therefore ask the NACES agency whether it accepts a professional translation you supply or translates as part of the evaluation.

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Emmanuel

  • Your school sends the secondary transcript by mail or through the Common Application (International students). Ask admissions@emmanuel.edu how to submit the certified translation; eVerbary can email it directly to an admissions office on request.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Emmanuel that means we translate your transcripts and letters; the credential evaluation, and for graduate programs the NACES translation and evaluation, come from an agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Who can translate my transcripts for Emmanuel?

A certified translator (International students).

Do recommendation letters need translating?

Yes, if they are not in English, by a certified translator (International students).

Is a credential evaluation required for transfer applicants?

The international page says required, the transfer page says recommended (International students, Transfer students).

What do graduate applicants need?

A translation and a course-by-course evaluation completed by a NACES member (Graduate admissions: how to apply).
