How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Eastern New Mexico University asks applicants who studied outside the US to send their official transcripts to a NACES member for evaluation, which then sends the evaluated transcripts to ENMU; graduate applicants need official results from a professional independent evaluation service for all post-secondary work.
ENMU publishes no translation rule of its own. ENMU's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; the evaluation is something we do not produce.

ENMU requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; the NACES agency needs the translation of records not in English (International student information).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency; see below.
Evaluation (undergraduate)
Official transcripts go to a NACES member, which sends the evaluated transcripts to ENMU (International student information).
Which records
Freshmen: secondary school. Transfers under 30 college hours: secondary and post-secondary. 30 hours or more: post-secondary only (International student information).
Agencies named
SpanTran, Josef Silny & Associates and WES, as examples (International student information).
Graduate
Official results of a professional independent transcript evaluation service for all post-secondary coursework; no hand-carried documents (graduate).
What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation
ENMU accepts any NACES member and gives SpanTran, Josef Silny & Associates and WES as examples (International student information).
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator; ECE accepts any complete, literal translation or translates internally for an $85 waiver.
SpanTran, now The Evaluation Company, wants an outside translator certified by ATA; Josef Silny accepts US translators certified by ATA. For those, ask eVerbary for a free quote.
Which records to translate
ENMU's table sets the records by student type: incoming freshmen send secondary-school transcripts; transfers with fewer than 30 college credit hours send both secondary and post-secondary transcripts; transfers with 30 or more send only post-secondary ones (International student information).
Graduate applicants evaluate all post-secondary work through an independent service, and ENMU does not accept hand-carried documents (Graduate School: international graduate students).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to ENMU
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your official transcripts; the agency sends the evaluated transcripts to ENMU (International student information).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For ENMU that means we translate your records; the evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does ENMU require a translation or an evaluation?
An evaluation by a NACES member (International student information); the agency asks for the translation.
Which agency should I use for ENMU?
Any NACES member; ENMU names SpanTran, Josef Silny & Associates and WES as examples (International student information).
Do transfers send high school transcripts?
Only with fewer than 30 college credit hours (International student information).
Can graduate applicants hand in their evaluation?
No. Results must come from the evaluation service (Graduate School: international graduate students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
