Requirements checked on October 27, 2026 from ETBU's public pages (sources).
East Texas Baptist University asks international applicants for official high school or college transcripts and, if they are not in English, a written translation together with an explanation of the grading system; college credit earned outside the US must also be evaluated by an outside NACES agency, or by ETBU for $75, before it can transfer.
ETBU does not say who must translate; East Texas Baptist University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation itself is not something we provide.
ETBU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
ETBU says transcripts not in English "must be accompanied by a written translation" and an explanation of the grading system, without restricting who translates (international undergraduates); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Sample translation: a Brazilian university transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with invented names, school and numbers. The original in Portuguese sits next to our English translation, and the PDF starts with the signed certification page. Bracketed text in the translation is a translator's note: each abbreviation is spelled out the first time it appears, and the layout follows the original line for line, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice
- CPF, RG, MEC, D.O.U., CH, CR and ENADE are spelled out in brackets the first time they appear, and only then.
- Status codes (AP, RM, RF, AE) are explained on first use, so a course failed and retaken the next term reads correctly.
- Grades, decimal commas and dates stay exactly as printed; the date format is noted once. Converting grades is the evaluator's job.
- Terms, rows and columns follow the original line for line, so each course can be matched at a glance.

ETBU requirements in detail
Translation
A written translation of transcripts not in English, with an explanation of the grading system (International admissions for undergraduates).
Who may translate
Not stated (International admissions for undergraduates).
Official transcripts
From each high school or college attended, submitted before applying (International admissions for undergraduates).
Transfer credit
College credit earned outside the US must be evaluated by an outside agency from the NACES member list, or by ETBU for $75 (International admissions for undergraduates).
Finances
Certification of Finances with official bank statements for at least one full year (International admissions for undergraduates).
Fee and English
US$50 application fee; TOEFL iBT 61 or IELTS 6.0 (International admissions for undergraduates).
Translate the grading system too
ETBU's rule has two parts: a transcript not in English must come with a written translation and with an explanation of the grading system (international undergraduates).
Ask for the grading legend or scale your school prints on the back of the transcript or issues separately, and have it translated with the record; a high school diploma translation completes the secondary file.
College credit from abroad: NACES or ETBU itself
To be considered for transfer credit, college work completed outside the US must be evaluated by an outside agency; ETBU points to the NACES member list, or it will evaluate the transcript itself for a fee of $75 (International admissions for undergraduates).
If you choose a NACES agency, it sets its own translation rules; see translation for credential evaluation.
International students must also prove funds for at least one full year with the Certification of Finances and official bank statements, and live in campus housing; the I-20 is sent once ETBU finds you admissible (International admissions for undergraduates).
Bank statements not in English can be translated with the transcripts.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to ETBU
Submit the Application for Admission and Financial Aid with the US$50 fee; official transcripts come from your schools, with the written translation and grading explanation alongside (International admissions for undergraduates).
On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For ETBU that means we translate your transcripts, grading scale and bank statements; the transfer-credit evaluation is done by a NACES agency or by ETBU.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of translation does ETBU require?
A written translation with an explanation of the grading system; ETBU does not say who must make it (International admissions for undergraduates).
Does ETBU evaluate foreign transcripts itself?
Yes, for $75, or you can use an agency from the NACES list (International admissions for undergraduates).
Do I need an evaluation for my high school record?
ETBU's page asks for the evaluation for college credit earned outside the US, to be considered for transfer credit (International admissions for undergraduates).
What English scores does ETBU accept?
TOEFL iBT 61 or IELTS 6.0 (International admissions for undergraduates).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
