How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

Daytona State College has every high school or college transcript from another country evaluated by a NACES member, and for transfer credit it also asks for translated course descriptions or syllabi for each class.

Daytona State's evaluation agencies, such as ECE, IEE and WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; the two other agencies it lists with a discount, TEC and Josef Silny, ask for a translator certified by ATA, which eVerbary can assign on request.

You order the translation first, then the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Daytona State requirements in detail

Translation

Transcripts reach Daytona State through a NACES evaluation; for transfer credit, translated course descriptions or syllabi for each class (International students).

Who may translate

For the evaluation, set by the agency; for syllabi, Daytona State names no translator.

High school abroad

Document-by-document evaluation; course-by-course if you studied in an English-speaking country and want credit for two years of a foreign language (International students).

College abroad

Course-by-course evaluation plus translated course descriptions; credit is based on content, hours and grades (International students).

Agencies

Any NACES member; TEC, ECE, IEE and Josef Silny offer a discount (International students).

Financial documents

Must be in English and in US dollars (International students).

Deadlines (F-1)

Fall: May 1 from outside the US, July 1 from inside. Spring: October 1 and December 1 (International students).

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

ECE accepts complete, word-for-word translations in the same format as the original, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates for its report only.

IEE wants a certified translator and rejects translations by the applicant or a notary public. WES, also a NACES member, wants a professional translator and does not translate itself.

The Evaluation Company says an outside translator must be certified by the American Translators Association, and Josef Silny asks for ATA-certified translators in the US. If you pick either for the discount, eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request (see below).

Transfer credit: an evaluation and translated syllabi

Daytona State does not stop at the evaluation for college work. For each class you want considered, you send a course-by-course evaluation and the course description or syllabus, translated (International students).

Transfer is decided on course content, credit hours and grades, so the syllabus translation should keep every topic, hour count and reading list.

For high school, a document-by-document report is the default.

If you finished high school in a country where English is official and want credit for two years of another language, ask the agency for a course-by-course report instead (International students).

Translate the full high school diploma and transcripts for the agency.

Need a certified translation for Daytona State?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcript and diploma with graduation date
  • College or university transcripts
  • Course descriptions or syllabi, for each class you want credited
  • Bank letters and award letters (must be in English)

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Daytona State

  • Transcript translations go to the NACES agency; the agency's evaluation and your official transcripts in sealed envelopes go to the Admissions Office, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach (International students).

  • Translated syllabi and financial documents go with your application; questions to International@DaytonaState.edu (International students). On request we can email the translation directly to the admissions office.

If you need a translator certified by ATA

Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:

$34.95 per page

Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian

$44.95 per page

Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian

To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Daytona State, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).

We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.

For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Daytona State that means we translate your records, syllabi and bank letters; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you from the agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for Daytona State?

Yes, on request, for example if you use The Evaluation Company or Josef Silny. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
