How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

The Community College of Vermont requires coursework completed outside the US and Canada to be evaluated by an external agency, any NACES member, before it can transfer, and recommends a course-by-course evaluation; for F-1 admission the evaluation is optional.

CCV publishes no translation rule of its own.

CCV's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; you translate first, and the agency then writes the evaluation, which we do not produce.

CCV at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

CCV asks for an evaluation from any NACES member before foreign coursework transfers (international students), and WES accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES rule), as do ECE and IERF. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Worth knowing about CCV

Any NACES member

CCV endorses no particular service.

Course-by-course

So classes transfer for specific credit.

Optional for F-1

Admission works without it.

CCV requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the evaluation agency needs the translation (International students).

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency; see below.

Evaluation

Coursework outside the US and Canada must be evaluated by a NACES member before it transfers; ask for course-by-course (transfer students).

F-1 admission

The evaluation is optional; scans of official high school transcripts showing the equivalent of a US high school diploma are required (International students).

Canada

Canadian transcripts must be submitted in English (International students).

US and Canadian records

Official transcripts sent directly from the school to CCV (International students).

What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation

CCV accepts any NACES member and endorses none, so the agency's rule decides the translation (Transfer students).

WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants; ECE accepts complete, literal translations, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver; IERF wants a literal, line-by-line translation and may ask for a professional one.

Some NACES members accept only ATA-certified translators; for those, ask eVerbary for a free quote.

Admission first, credit when you want it

For F-1 admission CCV reads scans of your official high school transcripts showing the equivalent of a US high school diploma, and the evaluation is optional (International students).

It becomes necessary when you want college courses from abroad to count: request a course-by-course report so each class can transfer as specific CCV credit.

Agencies charge by the extent of the education evaluated, so evaluate the records you need.

Need a certified translation for CCV?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcripts and diploma
  • College or university transcripts, for a course-by-course evaluation
  • Degree certificates
  • Course descriptions, if the agency asks for them

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to CCV

  • The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the agency sends the evaluation to CCV's registrar, registrar@ccv.edu or the transcript clerk in Montpelier (Transfer students).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For CCV that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does CCV require a translation or an evaluation?

An evaluation from a NACES member, for coursework outside the US and Canada that you want transferred (International students); the agency asks for the translation.

Do I need the evaluation to be admitted as an F-1 student?

No, it is optional for F-1 admission (International students).

Which evaluation agency does CCV prefer?

None; any NACES member works (Transfer students).

What kind of evaluation should I order?

Course-by-course, so your classes transfer for specific CCV credit (Transfer students).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
