How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) asks international applicants for a copy of their high school transcripts and proof of graduation translated into English, and for college transcripts translated into English; it does not say who must translate.

Community College of Allegheny County accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

Credit earned outside the US also needs a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator, which we do not provide.

CCAC at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

CCAC's international enrollment steps ask for high school and college records "translated into English" without restricting who translates (international student steps); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. ECE, TEC, WES or any NACES member, for credit.

Preliminary credit

Transferred courses post as Preliminary first.

CCAC requirements in detail

Translation

A copy of high school transcripts and proof of graduation translated into English; official college transcripts translated into English, if any (International student).

Who may translate

Not stated.

Evaluation

For outside college credit: a detailed evaluation from ECE, The Evaluation Company or WES, or any other NACES-approved evaluator, sent to transcripts@ccac.edu (International student).

Credit earned abroad

Course-by-course format preferred; up to 10 working days after the college receives the transcripts (credit transfer).

Status of credit

Courses transfer in as Preliminary and you receive an equivalency sheet by email (help center).

Funds (F-1)

Four months of sponsor bank statements showing at least $32,000, plus $2,000 per dependent (International student).

The same rule at two steps

CCAC's enrollment steps for I-20 students repeat the translation rule twice.

In Step 2 you gather a copy of your high school transcripts and proof of high school graduation translated into English, and copies of any official college transcripts translated into English; in Step 4 you send the same documents to the Office of International Students with the sponsor statement, bank statements, TOEFL scores and passport (International student). The page asks for copies, so keep your originals.

TOEFL scores are required only if you live outside the United States; residents of the US skip that item (International student). The diploma and transcript translations are needed either way.

College credit from abroad: a detailed evaluation

If you want outside college credits to count, CCAC names three agencies, Educational Credential Evaluators, The Evaluation Company and World Education Services, asks you to request the detailed evaluation, and accepts any other NACES-approved evaluator; the report goes to transcripts@ccac.edu (International student).

The credit transfer page says it prefers the course-by-course format for international transcripts (Credit transfer).

Evaluations are curriculum-specific: courses count only if they fulfill your program at the time you apply for credit, and changing majors means a new evaluation, requested by email (Credit transfer).

Courses come in with Preliminary status (Submitting your transcripts to CCAC (help center)).

Each agency sets its own rule for the translation you send it; The Evaluation Company, for example, asks for an outside translator certified by ATA (TEC), which eVerbary can provide on request through a free quote. See translation for credential evaluation.

Need a certified translation for CCAC?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • High school transcripts
  • Proof of high school graduation (diploma or certificate)
  • College or university transcripts, if any
  • Sponsor bank statements, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to CCAC

  • F-1 applicants complete the CCAC application and the International Student Admissions application, then send the translated records with the financial and passport documents to the Office of International Students (International student).

  • Evaluations of foreign college work are sent to transcripts@ccac.edu; you can follow the result in CCAC Self-Service (Credit transfer).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For CCAC that means we translate your diploma, transcripts and bank statements; the NACES evaluation for credit comes from an evaluation agency.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does CCAC need my high school diploma translated?

Yes. It asks for a copy of your high school transcripts and proof of graduation translated into English (International student).

Who can translate my records for CCAC?

CCAC does not say (International student). A certified translation from a professional service qualifies.

Which evaluation agency does CCAC accept?

ECE, The Evaluation Company, WES or any other NACES-approved evaluator; request the detailed evaluation (International student).

How long does the credit evaluation take?

Up to 10 working days after CCAC receives the transcripts (Credit transfer).

Do I need TOEFL if I already live in the US?

No. CCAC asks for TOEFL only from applicants living outside the United States (International student).
