Requirements checked on October 28, 2026 from CMC's public pages (sources).

Colorado Mountain College (CMC) publishes no translation rule for admission; for college credit from abroad it accepts any course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, and asks for course descriptions in English, plus a translated syllabus for some upper-level courses, to match specific CMC courses.

CMC's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and Educational Perspectives, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

The translation comes first and goes to the agency; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript

This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.

What to notice

  • Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
  • The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
  • Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
  • The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

Worth knowing about CMC

WES from $163

CMC quotes WES, ECE and EP course-by-course fees.

Descriptions in English

Needed to match specific CMC courses.

80% match rule

Below that, credit comes in as an elective.

CMC requirements in detail

Translation

No admission rule of its own; the evaluation agency needs the translation before it can evaluate a record not in English.

Evaluation

Any NACES member's course-by-course report, sent directly by the company; fees paid by the student (CMC: international students).

Agencies named

WES Basic course-by-course $163; ECE and Educational Perspectives course-by-course $195 (CMC: international students).

Who may translate

Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator, ECE accepts any complete literal translation, EP a reputable agency or certified translator (WES, ECE, EP).

Course descriptions

In English, to registrar@coloradomtn.edu, for specific equivalencies; some upper-level courses need a translated syllabus (CMC: international students).

When

Transcripts are evaluated only after admission, in about 4 weeks; not for applicants or non-degree students (CMC: transfer to CMC).

Deadlines (F-1)

May 1 for fall, October 1 for spring; no summer start (CMC: international students).

Two translations: one for the agency, one for the Registrar

CMC's international students page splits the work.

The NACES agency reads your transcript and produces a course-by-course report with credit hours, grades and course level; CMC says each company sets its own rules for official transcripts and translations. Most courses then come in as transfer-level electives.

If you want a course to count as a specific CMC course, you also send course descriptions in English to the Registrar, and some upper-level courses need a translated syllabus.

CMC's transfer page assigns an equivalent course only when the description matches at least 80%, and an appeal requires the full syllabus from the time you took the course.

Translating descriptions and syllabi with the transcript saves a second order.

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not translate (WES).

ECE accepts complete, literal, word-for-word translations, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver (ECE).

Educational Perspectives accepts translations from a reputable agency or a certified professional translator, and sells its own (EP). CMC accepts any NACES member, so other agencies work too.

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • University or college transcripts, for the course-by-course evaluation
  • Course descriptions, in English, for specific equivalencies
  • Syllabi of upper-level courses
  • Sponsor or bank documents for the $37,632 cost of attendance

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to CMC

  • The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the agency sends its course-by-course report directly to CMC, which produces a Transfer Evaluation Report (CMC: international students).

  • Translated course descriptions go to registrar@coloradomtn.edu; admission documents are uploaded through the Admissions Checklist in your application (CMC: international students).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For CMC that means we translate your transcripts, course descriptions and syllabi; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does CMC require a translation to apply?

CMC publishes no translation rule for admission; translations matter for the NACES evaluation and for course descriptions (CMC: international students).

Which evaluation agencies does CMC accept?

Any NACES member's course-by-course report; CMC names WES, ECE and Educational Perspectives (CMC: international students).

Do my course descriptions need to be in English?

Yes, to get specific CMC equivalents; some upper-level courses also need a translated syllabus (CMC: international students).

When does CMC evaluate my transcripts?

After you are admitted, in about 4 weeks; not for applicants or non-degree students (CMC: transfer to CMC).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
