Cochran School of Nursing asks applicants with foreign transcripts for an unofficial copy of the original and an evaluation by World Education Services or Global Language Services, which Cochran then treats as the official transcript.

Sample translation: a Congolese secondary school transcript
This is what an order looks like when it is delivered, with a fictitious student. The PDF starts with the signed certification page, and the translation follows the original line for line: every abbreviation is explained, stamps, seals and signatures are noted in brackets, and the grid stays the same, so an admissions officer or a credential evaluator can match it without guessing.
What to notice
- Two school years in the same grid as the original: every subject, grading period, exam and total, so each grade can be read against its maximum.
- The French rating abbreviations are translated (TB becomes VG, Very good), and every abbreviation is explained in a translator's note at the foot of the same page, including one the original never defines.
- Dates are written the US way (the original's 02/07/2015 is February 7, 2015).
- The photo, seals and signatures are noted in brackets where they appear.

How the WES evaluation replaces your foreign transcript
At Cochran the foreign transcript itself is not the official record: you send an unofficial copy of the original, and the evaluation from World Education Services or Global Language Services is what Cochran files as your official transcript (admissions process).
Your application is not processed until every item is in, so order the translation and the evaluation early.
WES asks for an exact, word-for-word English translation of every document not in English, made by a professional translator such as a certified translation agency; it does not accept translations by applicants and does not translate documents itself.
Translate the full transcript, the diploma and the grading legend, so the report covers every course.
Westchester Community College and prerequisites
Cochran is affiliated with Westchester Community College for the general education courses of its program and is accredited by ACEN (Admissions overview).
Applicants send official high school and college transcripts together with proof of registration for any prerequisites still in progress, then take the Kaplan or TEAS test by appointment (Admissions process).

Uploading the translation to Cochran
The translation goes to WES with your records (WES takes it in your WES account); WES sends its evaluation to Cochran, and you send Cochran the unofficial copy of the original to the Admissions Office, 1022 North Broadway, 2nd Floor, Yonkers, NY 10701 (Admissions process).

What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
