How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Champlain College asks international first-year applicants to email academic records translated into English, and transfer applicants to send university transcripts with official English translations, required whether or not they want credit; it does not say who must translate.

Champlain College accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

University credentials from abroad also need an evaluation by an approved service, and Champlain College Online relies on a NACES evaluation; the evaluation is something we do not provide.

Champlain at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Champlain's international admissions page says submissions "should be translated into English" and asks for university records "along with official English translations", without restricting who translates (international applicants); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. Champlain requirements in detail

Documents or certified copies of transcripts, mark sheets, grade reports, diplomas and exam results, emailed to admission@champlain.edu and translated into English (International applicants).

Translation (transfer)

Records from every post-secondary institution with official English translations, required whether or not transfer credit is desired (International applicants).

Who may translate

Evaluation

University credentials from abroad must be evaluated by an approved service; Champlain points to the NACES member list (International applicants).

After acceptance

You bring official transcripts and other documents to be verified (International applicants).

Champlain College Online

Foreign transcripts go through a NACES (or AACRAO IES for high school) evaluation, sent by the agency (Online admissions).

Campus admission: everything by email, translated

Champlain's campus admissions reads documents sent by email: first-year applicants email the documents or certified copies of transcripts, mark sheets, grade reports, diplomas and national exam results to admission@champlain.edu, translated into English (International applicants).

Transfer applicants have each university abroad email its official transcripts with English translations, and Champlain wants them whether or not you ask for credit.

If you are accepted, you bring the official documents so they can be verified.

University credentials from abroad also need an evaluation by an approved service, and Champlain sends applicants to the NACES member list. WES, a NACES member, accepts a word-for-word translation from a professional translation service, so one translation serves both Champlain and the agency.

Champlain College Online works differently

For Champlain College Online, transcripts from abroad go through a third-party evaluation, from any NACES member, which translates and assesses them; undergraduates need a course-by-course report for credit, and applicants without an associate degree also evaluate their high school records, where AACRAO IES is accepted too (Online admissions).

The agency sends the evaluation directly to Champlain. Check the agency's own translation rule before ordering.

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Champlain that means we translate your records; the evaluation of university credentials comes from an approved evaluation service.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Is a credential evaluation required?

For university credentials from abroad, yes, by an approved service (International applicants).
