How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Cayuga Community College requires F-1 applicants with foreign high school credentials to submit an official evaluation of the transcript and diploma, and accepts evaluations only from NACES members.
Cayuga's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You translate first and the agency evaluates; the evaluation itself is something we do not provide.

Cayuga requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; applications and correspondence must be in English (International students).
High school
An official evaluation of the high school transcript and diploma, accepted only from NACES members (International students).
Transfer credit
College work outside the US should be evaluated by a NACES member or another organization recognized by the College Registrar, and sent directly (International students).
Financial proof
Foreign Student Financial Statement with current notarized bank statements (International students).
Deadlines
July 1 for fall, November 1 for spring (International students).
Only NACES for admission, more choice for credit
Cayuga admits high school graduates, and for foreign credentials it wants an official evaluation of both the transcript and the diploma. For admission it accepts evaluations only from NACES members (International students).
For transfer credit from college work abroad it is more flexible: a NACES member or any other organization recognized by the College Registrar, sent directly to Cayuga. All applications and correspondence must be in English.
Translate the transcript and the diploma, since both are evaluated, and include the grading scale.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES requires an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation agency, uploaded in your WES account, and does not translate (WES).
ECE accepts any complete, literal translation in the same format as the original, including one you make yourself, and offers an $85 waiver under which it translates internally for its report (ECE).
Your bank statements are a separate matter: Cayuga wants them current and notarized with the financial statement. If they are not in English, a certified translation of each statement helps the office read them; ask Cayuga Admissions if it needs one.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Cayuga
The translation goes to the NACES agency with your documents; the agency sends the evaluation to Cayuga. The financial statement, notarized bank statements and other forms go to Admissions before the I-20 is issued (International students).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Cayuga that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES evaluation is ordered by you after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cayuga Community College require a credential evaluation?
Yes, for foreign high school credentials: an official evaluation of the transcript and diploma from a NACES member (International students).
Can I use an agency that is not in NACES?
Not for admission. For transfer credit, the Registrar may recognize other organizations (International students).
Who translates my documents for Cayuga?
The NACES agency sets the rule; WES, for example, wants a professional word-for-word translation (WES).
What are Cayuga's deadlines?
July 1 for fall and November 1 for spring (International students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
