Belmont University: Translation Requirements for Documents in Another Language
Yes, through the evaluation: Belmont asks for a credential evaluation, and WES, one of the agencies it accepts, takes certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Credential evaluation: NACES course-by-course with GPA
- $24.95 per page
- Usually 24 h for 1–3 pages
- Signed certificate of accuracy, PDF
- See the price before you pay
How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Belmont University publishes no translation rule of its own: students educated outside the US need a course-by-course evaluation with a GPA from a NACES-accredited company, sent by the company to Belmont, for the high school record and for any college work abroad.
Belmont's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; The Evaluation Company and Josef Silny ask for ATA-certified translators, which eVerbary can assign on request.
You order the translation first, then the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Worth knowing about Belmont
Course-by-course + GPA
Even for the high school record.
Four suggested agencies
TEC, Josef Silny, WES and ECE.
April 1
Fall deadline; October 1 for spring.
Belmont requirements in detail
Translation
Belmont states no translation rule; foreign records reach it through the evaluation (International students: how to apply).
Who may translate
Set by the agency: WES wants a professional translator, ECE accepts any word-for-word translation, TEC and Josef Silny ask for ATA-certified translators.
First-year
A course-by-course evaluation of the high school transcript, with GPA, sent by the company; only NACES-accredited companies (International students: how to apply).
Transfer
Course-by-course evaluations with GPA of all college work outside the US; under 24 credit hours, the high school record too (International students: how to apply).
Agencies
Any NACES-accredited agency; recommended ECE, WES, Josef Silny and The Evaluation Company (evaluation guide).
Where it goes
Office of Admissions, Belmont University, 1900 Belmont Blvd., Nashville, TN 37212, directly from the company (Guide to international evaluation companies (PDF)).
Deadlines
Fall April 1, spring October 1 (International students: how to apply).
What each suggested agency asks for the translation
WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service, not one made by the applicant.
ECE accepts any complete, word-for-word translation, including your own, and sells an $85 waiver under which it translates internally.
Josef Silny & Associates asks for translations made in the US by ATA-certified translators, and The Evaluation Company accepts outside translations only from ATA-certified translators.
If you pick TEC or Josef Silny, eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator on request (see below).
High school, transfer and second-degree applicants
Belmont evaluates the high school record of every first-year applicant schooled abroad, course by course and with a GPA (how to apply).
Transfer and second-degree applicants evaluate university transcripts; if they have fewer than 24 credit hours, the high school record goes into the evaluation as well, and some agencies offer one combined report for both levels (evaluation guide).
Translate the high school diploma, transcripts and any university records together so the agency file is complete.
Need a certified translation for Belmont?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- High school transcripts or mark sheets, every year
- Secondary school diploma or leaving certificate
- University transcripts and degree certificates (transfer and second degree)
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Belmont
The translation goes to the evaluation company with your records; the company sends the course-by-course report with GPA to Belmont's Office of Admissions (Guide to international evaluation companies (PDF)).
On request we can email the translation directly to the agency.
If you need a translator certified by ATA
Some offices accept only a translator who is personally certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). eVerbary assigns one on request, for the languages ATA certifies into English:
$34.95 per page
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian
$44.95 per page
Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian
To order it, ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for Belmont, which program it is for, and that you need a translator individually certified by ATA, plus anything else the office asks for (notarization, delivery by email to the office).
We confirm the price and the translator before you pay. ATA does not certify other languages into English, so no translator anywhere holds ATA certification for them.
For those languages we provide a notarized certified translation instead, at $44.95 per page plus notarization ($34.90 per order); ask the office to confirm it accepts that, and write its answer in the quote notes.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Belmont that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you and sent by the company to Belmont.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Belmont accept a translated transcript without an evaluation?
No. Students educated outside the US need a formal course-by-course evaluation with GPA from a NACES-accredited company (International students: how to apply).
Which evaluation company should I use for Belmont?
Any NACES-accredited agency; Belmont recommends ECE, WES, Josef Silny and The Evaluation Company (Guide to international evaluation companies (PDF)). Their translation rules differ.
Do transfer students also evaluate high school records?
Only if they have fewer than 24 credit hours of college work (International students: how to apply).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for Belmont?
Yes, on request, for example if you use The Evaluation Company or Josef Silny. Ask for a free quote and write in the notes that the translation is for an evaluation for Belmont University and needs a translator individually certified by ATA. ATA certifies Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) and Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page) into English; no other languages.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
