TruMerit (CGFNS) Translation Requirements
TruMerit (formerly CGFNS) wants academic records sent by your school in English, and says the translation must be done by the school you attended; if the school cannot, TruMerit translates them for $85 per page. Secondary-school diplomas are the exception: you, or anyone you choose, may translate those.

The rules, from TruMerit (CGFNS)

| What it says | |
|---|---|
| Transcripts and academic records | “These documents must be in English and translated by the educational institution(s) that the applicant has attended/completed.” source |
| If the school cannot translate | “TruMerit can translate the documents for an additional fee” — $85.00 per standard page on its fee schedule. source |
| Secondary-school diploma | “Secondary school diplomas can be translated by an applicant or someone chosen by an applicant.” source |
| Forms completed by schools or licensing bodies | The translator provides the English responses, but the school sends both the English and native-language forms; they must come from the institution, not the translator. |
Worth knowing
TruMerit's FAQ also says “You will need to get an official translation of all documents into English. You are responsible for the costs,” which is looser than the program pages. The program pages are the specific rule; check with TruMerit before paying anyone for a transcript translation. source
How we fit
Honestly: for transcripts, TruMerit wants your school's translation, not ours. Where we can help is the secondary-school diploma, documents for a US state board of nursing (see our board pages), and anything TruMerit confirms in writing it will accept from a professional translator.
Other bodies and the state boards are on healthcare credentialing.
