Registration through the online system
Uzbekistan requires residential leases to be registered, and registration has moved to an electronic system through which the contract is recorded and the rental tax accounted for.

Rent is in som, whose figures run to seven digits for ordinary amounts, and leases to foreign tenants are frequently quoted in US dollars and paid in som.

Uzbekistan is mid-transition from Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet, so documents of different dates spell the same names two ways, and Russian remains widely used.
