Lineage is the whole social structure
Somali identity is organised around clan lineage traced through the father, and a person's place in it is recited through the paternal line. Paternity is therefore established socially and by Islamic law, through marriage, rather than by a registry act.
There is no acknowledgment instrument. Where a document exists it is a sharia court record, an elders' attestation, a mosque record or an affidavit, and we name the body and describe the document for what it is.

The three names, and what they prove
Somali names run given name, father's name, grandfather's name, so a child's name contains their father's given name. That makes the name itself evidence of the relationship in a way no other naming system on this list provides.
