Certified by a state or private notary

A Kyrgyz power of attorney (doverennost) is a notarial document: the notary checks it, enters it in the register and certifies it with a stamp and register number. Kyrgyzstan has both state and private notaries, and either can certify one. The text is usually in Russian, sometimes Kyrgyz.

The certification block states the date and place, the notary's name, the register number and the fee, and confirms the identity and capacity of the person signing. We translate all of it, because that block is what makes the document valid. See our Russian page.

Using one in the US, or sending one home

A Kyrgyz power of attorney used in a US court or for a US bank or property transaction may need an apostille as well as a translation; Kyrgyzstan has been a party to the Apostille Convention since 31 July 2011, and apostilles are issued through the Ministry of Justice. Ask the receiving party first. See apostille and translation.

The commoner direction is the reverse: someone living in the US authorises a relative to sell property or deal with an office at home. A Kyrgyz consulate can usually certify that kind of power of attorney; ask the consulate and the office in Kyrgyzstan what form they accept. See our Kyrgyz property deed page and our Kyrgyz page.

What USCIS requires

Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.

State agencies set their own rules — see government agencies — and what our certification states is on this page.

How it works

Upload a photo or a scan of your document, pick the language pair and check out online. You never have to mail originals: a legible copy is all we need.

A professional human translator, never machine translation, translates the document word for word and mirrors the layout of the original. Every certified translation ships with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that meets the requirements of USCIS, courts and universities.

Your translation is delivered digitally, usually within 24 hours for documents of one to three pages, and same-day delivery is available. If anything needs adjusting, we revise it.

Certified vs. standard translation

A certified translation is a word-for-word translation accompanied by a signed statement attesting to its accuracy and completeness. It is what official bodies require: USCIS, courts, universities and government agencies. Certified translations are $24.95 per page, where one sheet of your document is one page, with no word cap.

A standard translation is the same professional human translation without the certificate, for when you only need to understand the content or for internal or informal use. It is billed at the same $24.95 per page with no word cap.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need an apostille?

Not for USCIS. A US court, bank or title company may ask for one; check with them first.

The notary's text is longer than the authorisation itself.

That is normal for a notarised document. We translate the certification block in full along with the authorisation.

Can a Kyrgyz consulate in the US certify one?

Consulates generally perform notarial acts for their citizens. Ask the consulate which documents it certifies and what it needs from you.

Ready to get started?
