The travel passport, issued on the ID card

For travel Kyrgyz citizens hold a separate general civil passport (obshchegrazhdanskiy pasport), issued on the basis of the ID card; from age 16 a citizen can apply for both at once. A 2025-model passport has been issued since November 2025, and earlier passports remain valid until they expire.

The data page already carries the name in Latin letters, so what usually needs translating is everything else in another language: entry and exit stamps, visas, residence permits and endorsements, many of them in Russian. We translate the pages you send, not only the data page. See our Kyrgyz identity card page.

Latin spellings the holder chooses

Kyrgyz has three letters Russian lacks — ң, ө and ү — and none has a single English equivalent, so Өмүрбек can appear as Omurbek, Umurbek or Ömürbek. Rules adopted in autumn 2026 let applicants state the Latin spelling they want, so a new passport may spell a name differently from the old one.

We use the spelling in your current passport for every document in the order, so the whole file matches, and add a note where an older document spells it otherwise. See our Kyrgyz page.

What USCIS requires

Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), a foreign-language document must be accompanied by a complete English translation and the translator's certification that it is accurate. Every seal, stamp and marginal note is part of the document, so every one is translated.

State agencies set their own rules — see government agencies — and what our certification states is on this page.

How it works

Upload a photo or a scan of your document, pick the language pair and check out online. You never have to mail originals: a legible copy is all we need.

A professional human translator, never machine translation, translates the document word for word and mirrors the layout of the original. Every certified translation ships with a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that meets the requirements of USCIS, courts and universities.

Your translation is delivered digitally, usually within 24 hours for documents of one to three pages, and same-day delivery is available. If anything needs adjusting, we revise it.

Certified vs. standard translation

A certified translation is a word-for-word translation accompanied by a signed statement attesting to its accuracy and completeness. It is what official bodies require: USCIS, courts, universities and government agencies. Certified translations are $24.95 per page, where one sheet of your document is one page, with no word cap.

A standard translation is the same professional human translation without the certificate, for when you only need to understand the content or for internal or informal use. It is billed at the same $24.95 per page with no word cap.

Frequently asked questions

My old and new passports spell my name differently.

Common, and more so now that applicants can choose the Latin spelling. We follow the current passport and note the older form.

Do you translate the visa and stamp pages?

Yes, if you send them. Each page with non-English text is translated in full.

Does an English data page need translating at all?

Often only the stamps and endorsements do. Ask the receiving office what it wants; if it asks for the whole passport, we translate every page with non-English text.
