Reconocimiento before the RNP
Honduran acknowledgment is made before the Registro Nacional de las Personas, at the birth registration or later, by public instrument, or in a will, and it is recorded against the birth entry.
A certificación de nacimiento issued afterwards shows the father, with the tomo, folio and acta references. We transcribe all of them rather than summarising.
Judicial filiation, and the Family Code
Where the father does not acknowledge, an action lies under the Family Code and the judgment is recorded by the RNP. Honduran law provides for investigation of paternity including biological evidence.
A judgment and a voluntary acknowledgment are different instruments with different consequences if contested. We name which the document is.
Reposición, and what it is not
Honduran files sometimes contain a reposición — the lawful reconstruction of a registry entry lost or destroyed — which reads like a record created after the fact.

The RNP re-enrolled nationally and issued new identity numbering, so a file may carry two formats for one person. That is the re-enrolment rather than a discrepancy.
