No legal separation, and a divorce that can be uncontested
Czech law provides no legal separation. Divorce is by court, and where the spouses have lived apart for at least six months, agree, and have settled property and children, the court grants an uncontested divorce without examining the breakdown.
So a Czech file may contain a very short judgment resting on an agreement rather than on findings. That is the simplified route and it is fully effective.
Children are decided first
A Czech divorce cannot be granted until the court has approved arrangements for minor children in separate proceedings, so a file contains a child arrangements decision that precedes the divorce.

The finality clause
A Czech judgment carries a doložka právní moci — a clause confirming it is final — and without it the judgment is not usable abroad.

The marriage record, and the -ová
The divorce is recorded against the marriage entry at the registry office and the oddací list can be reissued, and a spouse may revert to a pre-marriage surname within a defined period.
