How we know · policy checked on October 21, 2026
International Evaluation Services (IES), an AICE charter member in Marlboro, New Jersey, requires every document not in English to come with a complete, literal, word-for-word official English translation, and does not say who must make it.
IES accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. IES works from clear photocopies, asks for originals only when authenticity is in doubt, and takes applications by mail; the evaluation comes from IES.

IES requirements in detail
Translation
Every non-English document must come with a complete, literal, word-for-word official English translation (IES: application for evaluation).
Who may translate
IES does not name a translator; it asks for an official translation.
Self-translation
Not addressed by IES.
Original or copy
Clear, legible photocopies of all original educational documents; IES requires originals only if their authenticity is questionable (IES: application for evaluation).
Own translation service
None mentioned.
How to submit
Mail the signed application with the copies, translations, a check or money order and a self-addressed stamped envelope to IES, P.O. Box 505, Marlboro, NJ (IES: application for evaluation).
Notarization
Not required for translations. IES offers notarized copies of its evaluations at $10 each (IES: application for evaluation).
A short rule, read literally
IES's application has one translation sentence: every non-English document needs a complete, literal, word-for-word official English translation (IES: application for evaluation).
Complete means every page and every stamp; literal means no adaptation of course names or grades to US terms.
A certified translation from a professional service, signed with a statement of accuracy, is the usual way to show it is official.
Because IES works from photocopies, the translation should follow the layout of the copy you send, so each line can be matched.
IES lists what goes with every application: all final degrees, diplomas and certificates, and all transcripts or mark sheets with subjects and grades (IES: application for evaluation).
Reports, prices and timing
IES offers a general document review ($50), a course-by-course report ($100) and a combined education and work-experience report ($250) for employment-based immigration.
Reports usually take 10 to 15 business days from receipt of all fees and documents; rush service costs $75 to $125 (IES: application for evaluation).
For the work-experience report, IES also asks for a resume and employer letters, which need translation too if they are not in English.
IES is listed as a charter member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators, marked as an active agency (AICE). Its own site is a short contact page with the application (IES).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades, hours and credits exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA or equivalency.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload or print.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
- Notarization added at checkout ($34.90 per order) when the office asks for a notarized translation.
Submitting the translation to IES
Mail the translations with the photocopies of your documents and the signed application to IES in Marlboro, New Jersey (IES: application for evaluation).
We deliver the translation as a PDF with a signed certificate of translation accuracy; print it and mail it with the application.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, we do not order the evaluation for you, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For IES that means we translate your records and employer letters; the evaluation, including any work-experience equivalency, comes from IES.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and submit it with the copy of the original wherever the office asks for it.
