Documents Form I-129F usually involves
The ones that are often in another language:
- divorce decrees or death certificates showing both partners are free to marry
- evidence that the couple met in person in the last two years: travel records, letters, messages
- later, at the consulate, the fiancé's birth certificate and police certificates
Before you order
Messages and letters in another language need a translation too if you submit them. Pick the ones that show the relationship and have those translated in full, rather than translating hundreds of pages.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need certified translations for Form I-129F?
For every document in a language other than English, yes: a complete English translation with the translator's certification that it is complete and accurate and that they are competent to translate (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). Documents already in English need nothing.
Do the translations have to be notarized?
No. USCIS and the NVC ask for a certified translation, not a notarized one.
How much does it cost?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words. Most certificates are one or two pages; most orders are delivered within a few hours, and 1–3 pages within 24 hours at most.
