How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Xavier University in Cincinnati requires prospective international students to submit an official third-party course-by-course evaluation of their college or university transcripts from a NACES or AICE member, and offers discounted applications through Scholaro, IEE and The Evaluation Company; its graduate admission page strongly encourages the same evaluation.
Xavier's evaluation agencies, such as IEE, Scholaro and WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You translate first and send the translation with your records; the evaluation is something we do not produce.
Xavier at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
Xavier asks for a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES or AICE member (credential evaluation), and IEE, a NACES member, accepts a translation by a certified translator (IEE FAQ), as do Scholaro and WES; TEC asks for a translator certified by ATA. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

Xavier requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; foreign college records reach Xavier through the evaluation (International admission: credential evaluation).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency; see below.
Evaluation
Required: official third-party course-by-course evaluation of college/university transcripts from a NACES or AICE member; fees paid by you (International admission: credential evaluation).
Discounted services
Scholaro, International Education Evaluations (IEE) and The Evaluation Company each offer a customized Xavier application (International admission: credential evaluation).
Graduate
Strongly encouraged: a NACES course-by-course evaluation of high school and/or college transcripts (graduate admission).
What the discounted agencies ask for the translation
IEE accepts translations by certified translators, not by the client or a notary, and sells its own.
Scholaro accepts documents in the original language or with a certified translation by a professional translator, and sells a translation add-on. The Evaluation Company requires an outside translator certified by ATA.
WES, also a NACES member, wants a professional word-for-word translation. If you take the TEC discount, ask eVerbary for a free quote for an ATA-certified translator.
College records first
Xavier's international rule names college and university transcripts: those need the course-by-course report, and the graduate page extends the recommendation to high school records (International admission: credential evaluation; Graduate admission).
Once the evaluation is done, Xavier asks for the official evaluation together with a copy of the official transcript. Translate the full transcript, the degree certificate and the grading scale, so the agency can list every course.
Need a certified translation for Xavier?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- University transcripts and degree certificates
- Grading scale or transcript legend
- High school transcripts, if the graduate program asks for them
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Xavier
The translation goes to the agency with your records; once the evaluation is complete, it goes to Xavier with a copy of your official transcript (International admission: credential evaluation).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Xavier that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES or AICE member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Which evaluation agencies does Xavier accept?
Any NACES or AICE member; Scholaro, IEE and TEC offer discounted Xavier applications (International admission: credential evaluation).
Is the evaluation required for graduate programs?
The graduate admission page strongly encourages it (Graduate admission).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?
Yes, through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page). ATA certifies no other languages into English.
Who pays for the evaluation?
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
