How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Westminster University publishes no translation rule for degree applicants: transfer and graduate applicants with university study outside the US upload the transcript and order a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-approved organization.

Westminster's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the agency writes the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Westminster at a glance

Does it accept eVerbary? Yes

Westminster asks for a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-approved organization (international admissions), and WES, a NACES member, accepts a certified translation from a professional translation service (WES translation rules); ECE accepts one as well, while TEC, which has a Westminster discount, asks for a translator certified by ATA. Westminster requirements in detail

Translation

Westminster states no translation rule for degree applicants; records from abroad reach it through a NACES evaluation. The translation is what the agency needs before it can evaluate a document not in English.

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency (see below).

Evaluation

Transfer and graduate applicants upload university transcripts from outside the US and order a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES-approved organization (Westminster University: international admissions).

Discount

The Evaluation Company (formerly SpanTran) has a custom Westminster application at a discounted rate (Westminster University: international admissions).

First-year

A high school transcript; no evaluation is listed for first-year applicants (Westminster University: international admissions).

Exchange students

Official transcripts in English or with an official English translation (Westminster University: international admissions).

What each evaluation agency asks for the translation

Westminster accepts any NACES member and points to TEC's discounted application (international admissions).

The Evaluation Company asks for an outside translator certified by the American Translators Association, or translates through its own team; for TEC, eVerbary can assign an ATA-certified translator through a free quote, for the languages ATA certifies.

If you choose another NACES member: WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator or service and not the applicant; ECE accepts complete, literal translations in the original's format, lets applicants translate themselves, and sells an $85 Translation Waiver.

Who needs an evaluation, and who does not

The course-by-course evaluation is for transfer and graduate applicants with university study outside the US; students from English-speaking universities or colleges in Canada skip it (Westminster University: international admissions).

First-year applicants submit a high school transcript. Exchange students, who are nominated by their home institution, upload official transcripts in English or with an official English translation to the exchange application.

Uploading the translation to Westminster

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Westminster that means we translate your records for the agency; the NACES course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you, for example through TEC's Westminster application.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Westminster University require a certified translation?

Westminster itself publishes no translation rule for degree applicants; it requires a NACES course-by-course evaluation of university records from abroad (Westminster University: international admissions), and the agency sets the translation rule.

Can I use an eVerbary translation with TEC?

TEC asks for an outside translator certified by ATA (TEC). eVerbary can provide one through a free quote, for Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian ($34.95 per page) or Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian ($44.95 per page).

Do Canadian applicants need an evaluation?

Not if they attended an English-speaking university or college in Canada (Westminster University: international admissions).

What do exchange students send?

Official transcripts in English or with an official English translation (Westminster University: international admissions).

Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?

No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
