How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Utica University requires all new first-year and transfer applicants to provide a course-by-course evaluation, with the GPA calculated, of every transcript from outside the US, and World Education Services is the one agency it names.
Utica's evaluation agencies, such as WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You order the translation first and upload it to WES with your records; WES then writes the evaluation, which we do not provide.

Utica requirements in detail
Translation
Utica states no translation rule of its own; WES, the agency it requires, asks for one before it evaluates a document not in English.
Evaluation
All new applicants: a course-by-course evaluation of all foreign credentials, with GPA, from World Education Services (International admissions).
Transcripts
Official mark sheets for every year of secondary and post-secondary study, with an explanation of the grading system in English, plus official leaving exam results or proof of graduation (International admissions).
Transfer credit
Utica will not evaluate international transfer credits itself; transfers with university credit submit a WES evaluation of all transcripts (International admissions).
Where to send
First-year and transfer documents to admiss@utica.edu; graduate documents uploaded to the student portal (International admissions).
Deadlines
The page lists June 1 for fall 2026 and November 1 for spring 2027, and also describes rolling admission with July 1 and November 14 as the latest dates (International admissions).
Bank letter
At least $38,078 for undergraduates, $26,590 for graduate students and $60,375 for accelerated nursing (International admissions).
What WES asks for the translation
Because Utica names only WES, the WES rule decides the translation.
WES requires documents not in English to be translated by a professional translator, for example one affiliated with a university or a certified translation agency, as an exact, word-for-word, typed translation; it does not accept translations made by applicants and does not translate documents itself (WES). You upload the translation in your WES account (WES).
Order the course-by-course report with the GPA calculated, as Utica asks, and have WES send it to Utica. A certified translation from eVerbary follows the original word for word and keeps every grade as written, which is what WES needs to calculate the GPA.
All years, and the grading key
Utica wants official mark sheets for all years of secondary and post-secondary study, not only the final one, together with an explanation of the grading system in English and the official results of school-leaving examinations (International admissions).
Translate the grading legend with each mark sheet. Students with the IB, the German Abitur, the French Baccalaureate or the Swiss Maturita may also receive college credit and advanced standing (International admissions).

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Utica
The translation goes to WES with your records, uploaded in your WES account; WES sends the course-by-course evaluation to Utica. Your other documents go by email to admiss@utica.edu, or, for graduate applicants, to the student portal (International admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Utica that means we translate your records for WES; the course-by-course evaluation with GPA is ordered and paid by you from WES after the translation.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an evaluation agency other than WES for Utica?
Utica's international page names only World Education Services for the required course-by-course evaluation (International admissions).
Does WES accept a translation from eVerbary?
WES accepts translations by a professional translator or certified translation agency, not by applicants (WES). eVerbary is a professional translation service.
Will Utica evaluate my foreign college credits?
No. Utica will not provide evaluation of international transfer credits; the WES report is what it uses (International admissions).
Do I need to send all years of mark sheets?
Yes, all years of secondary and post-secondary work, with an explanation of the grading system (International admissions).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
