UNI at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
UNI's international application process says transcripts not in English must be accompanied by an official English translation, without restricting who translates (application process), and the graduate catalog asks for official certified English translations (graduate catalog); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation. UNI requirements in detail
Translation
Transcripts in another language must be accompanied by an official English translation (International admissions: the application process); graduate catalog: official certified English translations, on request (catalog).
Who may translate
Not stated (International admissions: the application process).
What records must show
Years of attendance, courses, grades, month and year of graduation and the degree awarded (International admissions: the application process).
Evaluation
Not required; the International Admissions team evaluates your grades (FAQ).
Unofficial, then official
Unofficial documents with the application; official records, signed and sealed, mailed or emailed by the school directly to UNI before enrollment (International admissions: the application process).
Transfer credit
Only on the basis of course descriptions (syllabi) in English, for courses related to your major, after you confirm enrollment (International admissions: the application process, FAQ).
Deadlines
Undergraduate: rolling. Graduate: April 1 for fall, October 1 for spring, February 1 for summer (International admissions: the application process).
An official translation, and what the record must show
UNI's application process lists what an international academic record must contain: years of attendance, courses, grades, the month and year of graduation and the degree awarded, and adds that every transcript in a language other than English must be accompanied by an official English translation (application process).
For graduate applicants, the catalog says the Office of Admissions may ask for secondary and post-secondary records and official certified English translations of documents from non-English-speaking countries (graduate catalog). Neither says who must translate.
Usually only applicants for a first bachelor's degree send secondary school records.
UNI's country pages name the credential it expects and the minimum mark, for example the Bachiller with an 8 (B) average for Colombia (Colombia requirements); the translation should keep that mark and the scale exactly as issued.
Decided on copies, confirmed by the school
You can submit unofficial transcripts and translations with your application, and the International Admissions team evaluates your grades from them; UNI generally looks for a 3.0 GPA or the country equivalent (FAQ).
Before enrollment, official records must arrive by mail or email directly from the issuing school, with an original signature and seal or stamp where possible (International admissions: the application process). Three-year bachelor's degrees are considered for master's programs.
Transfer credit runs on syllabi in English
UNI grants transfer credit only on the basis of course descriptions (syllabi) in English (International admissions: the application process).
Credit is evaluated after you are admitted and confirm your enrollment, and only for courses related to the major you plan to pursue; descriptions usually come from the school's website, a syllabus or your former professors (International admissions FAQ).
If they exist only in another language, they need a translation too. Vocational-technical credit from an international university is typically a block of 16 elective hours.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.

Uploading the translation to UNI
Undergraduates submit unofficial transcripts and translations with the application; graduate applicants send materials other than official transcripts and scores to international.admissions@uni.edu (International admissions: the application process, catalog).
Official records come from your school, by mail or email, before enrollment (International admissions: the application process). eVerbary can email the translation directly to UNI International Admissions on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For UNI that means we translate your records and syllabi; UNI evaluates the grades itself, and the official records are sent by your school.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What translation does UNI require?
An official English translation with every transcript not in English; UNI does not say who must make it (International admissions: the application process). A certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary qualifies.
Can UNI decide on unofficial documents?
Yes. Unofficial transcripts are accepted for the admission decision; official ones are required before enrollment (International admissions FAQ).
Do I need WES or another evaluation?
No evaluation is listed; UNI's International Admissions team evaluates your grades (International admissions FAQ).
Do my course descriptions need to be in English?
Yes. Transfer credit is awarded only on the basis of syllabi in English (International admissions: the application process).
When are graduate applications due?
April 1 for fall, October 1 for spring and February 1 for summer; some departments set earlier dates (International admissions: the application process).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
