How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
The University of Indianapolis requires international graduate applicants to submit an official course-by-course credential evaluation of every post-secondary transcript from outside the US, from any NACES or AICE member, and recommends IEE through a discounted UIndy portal; undergraduate transfers can order the same evaluation for transfer credit.
UIndy's evaluation agencies, such as IEE, WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
You translate first and send the translation to the agency; the evaluation is something we do not produce.
UIndy at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
UIndy asks for a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES or AICE member (graduate requirements), and IEE, a NACES member, accepts a translation by a certified translator (IEE FAQ), as do WES and ECE. Policy checked on October 27, 2026.

UIndy requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; foreign post-secondary records reach UIndy through the evaluation (International graduate requirements).
Who may translate
Set by the evaluation agency; see below.
Graduate evaluation
Required: official course-by-course report of all post-secondary transcripts from outside the US, sent directly by the agency (International graduate requirements).
Agencies
Any current NACES or AICE member; IEE recommended, with a custom UIndy application at a discounted rate (International graduate requirements).
Undergraduate transfer credit
Optional course-by-course evaluation from NACES or AICE, usually $160 to $200; upload course descriptions in English to your portal (application guide).
Undergraduate admission
Upload high school results and university transcripts to the portal; UIndy notes there if documents must be verified or sent officially (International application how-to guide).
What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation
IEE, UIndy's recommended service, accepts translations by a certified translator, generally accepts translations from a university or embassy in your home country, and does not accept translations by the client or a notary; it also sells its own from $60 per page.
WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator, and ECE accepts any complete, literal translation or translates internally for an $85 waiver.
A certified translation from eVerbary works for all three and stays with you.
Course descriptions in English
For undergraduate transfer credit UIndy asks for two things: the course-by-course report, sent officially to UIndy, and course descriptions in English uploaded to your application portal (International application how-to guide).
Your school usually sends the official transcript directly to the evaluator, but the course descriptions are yours to supply, so if they exist only in another language, translate them with the transcripts.
Graduate applicants follow the IEE portal or another NACES or AICE member's instructions for sending transcripts (International graduate requirements).

- Course descriptions or syllabi, for transfer credit
- High school results, for undergraduate applicants
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to UIndy
The translation goes to IEE or another NACES or AICE member with your records; the agency sends the official report directly to UIndy (International graduate requirements). Course descriptions in English go to your UIndy portal (International application how-to guide).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For UIndy that means we translate your records and course descriptions; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from IEE or another NACES or AICE member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Which evaluation service does UIndy recommend?
IEE, through a custom UIndy portal at a discounted rate; any NACES or AICE member is accepted (International graduate requirements).
Do undergraduates need an evaluation?
Only for transfer credit, and it is optional (International application how-to guide).
How much does the evaluation cost?
UIndy says normally about $160 to $200 (International application how-to guide).
Does IEE accept a translation from a professional service?
IEE accepts translations by certified translators, not by the client or a notary (IEE).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
