How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
Reading Area Community College (RACC) asks international applicants for certified copies of every official transcript from secondary school up, and requires transcripts from a foreign college or university to be evaluated by a NACES member organization.
RACC's evaluation agencies, NACES members such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
The translation goes to the agency first; the evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

Certified copies of all official transcripts of training at the secondary level or above (Admissions: international students).
Evaluation
Transcripts from a foreign college or university must be evaluated by a NACES member organization (Admissions: international students).

Deadlines (F-1)

Transfer credit
Mailed transcripts must arrive sealed with an undisturbed signature; electronic ones go to admissions@racc.edu (transfer credit).
Certified copies for RACC, an evaluation for college records
RACC's international admissions list asks for certified copies of all official transcripts of all training at the secondary school level or above, and adds that transcripts from a foreign college or university must be evaluated by a NACES member organization (Admissions: international students).
The same list includes a remote placement test (TOEFL iBT 45 or IELTS 5.5 waives the writing section), a notarized sponsorship document and proof of US housing; everything is due by June 1 for fall or September 1 for spring.
RACC's page does not say whether secondary records need a translation. If yours are not in English, ask the admissions office before you send them; a certified translation attached to the certified copy avoids a second round.
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
WES: an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator or translation service; no translations by applicants; WES does not translate (WES).
ECE: complete, literal, word-for-word translations in the original format, including your own; ECE also sells an $85 waiver and translates internally for the report only (ECE). Other NACES members set their own rules; see translation for credential evaluation.

- University transcripts, for the NACES evaluation
- Degree certificates
- Sponsorship and bank documents, if not in English
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to RACC
For foreign college records, the translation goes to the NACES agency with your transcripts, and the agency sends RACC the evaluation (Admissions: international students). Other transcripts go to RACC sealed by mail or electronically to admissions@racc.edu (Assessment: transfer credit).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For RACC that means we translate your records; the NACES evaluation of foreign college transcripts is ordered by you from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does RACC require an evaluation of my foreign transcripts?
Yes, for transcripts from a foreign college or university: by a NACES member organization (Admissions: international students).
Which agency should I use?
Any NACES member. WES and ECE are members; check each agency's translation rule before ordering (WES, ECE).
What are RACC's deadlines for international students?
June 1 for fall and September 1 for spring (Admissions: international students).
Can I skip the writing placement test?
Yes, with TOEFL iBT 45 or IELTS 5.5 or above, taken within the past two years (Admissions: international students).
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
