How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026

LSU Shreveport requires international first-year and transfer applicants to have an official course-by-course credential evaluation sent directly from a current NACES or AICE member, received no later than 30 days before the program starts; medical credentials go through FCVS or ECFMG.

LSUS publishes no translation rule of its own. LSUS's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary; the evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

LSUS requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the evaluator needs the translation (International first-time freshman).

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency; see below.

Evaluation

Official course-by-course international credential evaluation, sent directly from a current NACES or AICE member (International first-time freshman).

Deadline

Official academic records no later than 30 days before your program starts (international transfer).

US records

Official transcripts from every US college attended (International first-time freshman).

Medical credentials

Evaluated through the Federation Credentials Verification Service or ECFMG (International first-time freshman).

What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation

LSUS accepts any NACES or AICE member, so the agency's rule applies.

WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator; ECE accepts any complete, literal translation, or translates internally for an $85 waiver; IERF wants a literal, line-by-line translation and may ask for a professional one.

Some members accept only ATA-certified translators; for those, ask eVerbary for a free quote.

Count back from the 30-day deadline

The evaluation has to reach LSUS no later than 30 days before your program begins, for first-year and transfer applicants alike (International first-time freshman, International transfer).

Agencies need your translated records before they start, so order the translation first; most eVerbary orders are delivered within a few hours.

First-year applicants evaluate their secondary records; transfers add every college attended abroad.

Need a certified translation for LSUS?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • Secondary school transcripts and diploma
  • College or university transcripts
  • Degree certificates
  • Medical diplomas and licenses, for FCVS or ECFMG

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to LSUS

  • The translation goes to the NACES or AICE agency with your records; the agency sends the course-by-course evaluation directly to LSUS (International first-time freshman).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For LSUS that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES or AICE member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
