How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
LSU New Orleans, the former University of New Orleans, requires a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member for foreign high school and university transcripts, with IEE and SpanTran (now The Evaluation Company) as preferred partners; its checklist also asks freshmen for an official English translation of secondary transcripts.
LSU New Orleans's evaluation agencies, such as IEE and WES, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
The translation comes first; the evaluation, which the Graduate School wants with a GPA and degree equivalency, is something we do not produce.

Course-by-course from a NACES member for all foreign high school and postsecondary transcripts (International requirements).
Preferred agencies
IEE and SpanTran, with discounted evaluations through the university's landing pages (International requirements).

NACES evaluation with a GPA calculation and the US equivalency of the degree; IEE at $120 and TEC Course Analysis at $150 for applicants (graduate requirements).

Conditional admission (graduate)
The official NACES evaluation is required for full admission and before the I-20 (Graduate School: international admission requirements).
What each evaluation agency asks for the translation
LSU New Orleans steers applicants to two partners. IEE wants a certified translator, does not accept translations by the client or a notary public, and also sells its own translations from $60 per page.
The Evaluation Company, formerly SpanTran, asks that an outside translator be certified by the American Translators Association, or translates in-house; for TEC, ask eVerbary for a free quote and say it is for TEC, and we assign a translator individually certified by ATA.
Any other NACES member is also accepted (International requirements). WES, for example, wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator and does not accept translations by applicants. Whichever you choose, order the evaluation through the university's link to get the discount.
Where LSU New Orleans's pages differ
The requirements page says all foreign high school transcripts need a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES agency.
The undergraduate checklist asks first-time freshmen for secondary transcripts with an official translation, and the FAQ says high school transcripts come from the school in the original language with an official English translation, while only university transcripts must be evaluated.
We have not resolved this; plan for the translation and ask Admissions whether your file also needs the evaluation.
Need a certified translation for LSU New Orleans?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.
Documents applicants usually translate
- Secondary school transcripts and diploma
- University transcripts or mark sheets
- Degree certificates, for the equivalency the graduate evaluation must show
- Catalog or syllabi, which help with transfer credit
What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to LSU New Orleans
The translation goes to IEE, TEC or another NACES member with your records; the agency sends the evaluation to LSU New Orleans (International requirements).
For freshmen, the checklist asks for the official translation with the secondary transcripts, sent to the international admissions email (Undergraduate checklist for international students).
We can send the certified translation directly to the admissions office by email on request.
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For LSU New Orleans that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation, with GPA for graduate applicants, comes from IEE, TEC or another NACES member.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
Is LSU New Orleans the same as the University of New Orleans?
Yes; the university now publishes its admission rules at lsuneworleans.edu (International requirements).
Do freshmen need an evaluation or a translation?
The requirements page asks for a course-by-course evaluation, and the checklist for an official translation (International requirements, Undergraduate checklist for international students). Ask Admissions which your file needs.
Which evaluation agency should I use?
IEE or SpanTran/TEC, preferred and discounted; any NACES member is accepted (International requirements).
What must a graduate evaluation include?
A GPA calculation and the US equivalency of the degree conferred (Graduate School: international admission requirements).
Can eVerbary provide an ATA-certified translator for TEC?
Yes, on request through a free quote: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Arabic, Russian and Ukrainian at $34.95 per page, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Croatian, Danish and Persian at $44.95. ATA certifies no other languages into English.
Will eVerbary convert my grades to a US GPA?
No. The translation reproduces the grades and the grading scale exactly as they appear. A GPA conversion is credential evaluation, which the institution or an evaluation agency does.
