How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Jackson College in Michigan does not evaluate foreign transcripts itself: international students who want credit from foreign colleges must have them evaluated course by course by an independent service, with WES and ECE recommended, and official academic records translated into English are required only from nursing applicants and athletes.

Jackson College's evaluation agencies, such as WES and ECE, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. The evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

Jackson College requirements in detail

Translation

Official academic records translated into English, required only for nursing applicants and athletes (international students).

Who may translate

Not stated by Jackson; for the evaluation, set by the agency.

Evaluation

For foreign college credit: an independent credential evaluation service; Jackson recommends WES and ECE (Foreign credit evaluation).

Report type

Course by course rather than document by document, so individual course credit can transfer (Foreign credit evaluation).

Older credits

Credits over 8 years old may not be accepted; placement testing may be used instead (Foreign credit evaluation).

Bank letter

Official, stamped and dated within 6 months of the program start (International students).

What WES and ECE ask for the translation

WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation by a professional translator, such as a certified translation agency, and does not translate documents itself.

ECE accepts any complete, literal translation in the same format as the original, including your own, or translates internally for an $85 waiver.

A certified translation from eVerbary works for both, and the same file can go to Jackson if you apply to nursing.

Nursing and athletics: translated records

For most F-1 applicants Jackson's checklist does not ask for academic records, but nursing applicants and Jackson College athletes must send official copies of their academic records, translated into English (International students).

If you also want foreign college courses counted, order the course-by-course evaluation: Jackson does not evaluate foreign transcripts itself, and credits more than 8 years old may not transfer (Foreign credit evaluation).

  • Degree certificates and diplomas
  • High school records, for nursing applicants and athletes
  • Bank letter, if not in English

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Jackson College

  • The translation goes to WES or ECE with your college records; the agency sends its course-by-course report to Jackson College (Foreign credit evaluation). Nursing applicants and athletes send the translated records with their application (International students).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Jackson College that means we translate your records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from WES, ECE or another service.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Jackson College evaluate foreign transcripts?

No. It relies on independent evaluation services such as WES and ECE (Foreign credit evaluation).

A course-by-course evaluation, not document by document (Foreign credit evaluation).

Do I need to translate my records to apply?

Only if you apply as a nursing student or a Jackson College athlete (International students).

Will old credits transfer?

Credits over 8 years old may not be accepted (Foreign credit evaluation).
