How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026

Goodwin University accepts credit earned at colleges outside the US only through a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member, sent as an original in a sealed envelope to its Transfer Counselor; it publishes no translation rule of its own.

Goodwin's evaluation agencies, such as WES, ECE and IERF, accept certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.

You order the translation first and send it to the agency; the evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

Course-by-course

Sealed original

Goodwin requirements in detail

Translation

No rule of its own; the evaluation agency needs the translation (International transfer students).

Who may translate

Set by the evaluation agency; see below.

Evaluation

Course-by-course, from a NACES member you contact yourself (International transfer students).

Delivery

An original of the official evaluation in a sealed envelope to Goodwin University, c/o Transfer Counselor, One Riverside Drive, East Hartford, CT 06118 (International transfer students).

Timing

Transcripts by the end of the first semester is strongly encouraged; transfer evaluations are done only for students enrolled in a degree or certificate program (transfer in).

Grades

Credits transfer, grades do not; transferred courses show as TR (Transferring credits into Goodwin).

What the evaluation agencies ask for the translation

Goodwin accepts any NACES member, so the agency's rule applies.

WES wants a word-for-word translation by a professional translator; ECE accepts a complete, literal translation and lets applicants make it themselves, or translates internally for an $85 waiver; IERF wants a line-by-line translation and may ask for a professional one.

Some NACES members accept only ATA-certified translators; for those, ask eVerbary for a free quote.

Credit, not grades

Goodwin's Transfer Coordinator brings in credit for courses that match its curriculum in content and level, and courses without a match come in as electives; credits appear on your Goodwin transcript after you complete 12 credits, and no grades transfer, so foreign marks do not affect your Goodwin GPA (transfer in).

Goodwin admits students in any semester, but evaluates transfer credit only once you are enrolled in a program, so the translation and the NACES report can follow your admission (Transferring credits into Goodwin).

Need a certified translation for Goodwin?

$24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages. See the price before you pay.

Documents applicants usually translate

  • College or university transcripts from abroad
  • Degree or diploma certificates
  • Course descriptions, if the agency or Goodwin asks for them

What an eVerbary translation includes

  • A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
  • Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
  • A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
  • $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.

Uploading the translation to Goodwin

  • The translation goes to the NACES agency with your records; the agency mails the original course-by-course evaluation, sealed, to Goodwin's Transfer Counselor (International transfer students).

What we do not do

eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.

For Goodwin that means we translate your college records; the course-by-course evaluation is ordered by you from a NACES member.

How to order

  1. Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
  2. Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
  3. Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
