How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
East Texas A&M University, formerly Texas A&M University-Commerce, requires a WES ICAP evaluation from undergraduate and graduate applicants whose official transcripts are not in English, and for university records from Nigeria and from China not issued through CSSD; it publishes no translation rule of its own.
East Texas A&M's evaluation agency, WES, accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. You order the translation first and upload it to WES; the ICAP evaluation itself is something we do not produce.

East Texas A&M requirements in detail
Translation
No rule of its own; WES needs the translation of records not in English (International undergraduate: how to apply).
Who may translate
Set by WES: a professional translator; translations by applicants are not accepted (WES).
Evaluation
WES ICAP, required for transcripts not in English, university records from Nigeria, and from China when not issued through CSSD (International undergraduate: how to apply).
Other countries
No evaluation at first, but Admissions or the Graduate School may require an external evaluation after reading the transcript (International undergraduate: how to apply, graduate).
Official transcripts
Original official documents sent to Undergraduate Admissions, PO Box 3011, Commerce, TX 75429-3011; if they are your only copies, they can be mailed back on request (International undergraduate: how to apply).
Deadlines
Requirements complete three months before the semester; undergraduate applications by May 1 (fall), October 1 (spring), March 1 (summer) (International undergraduate: how to apply).
What WES asks for the translation
East Texas A&M names one agency, WES, and one report, the ICAP (International undergraduate: how to apply).
WES wants an exact, word-for-word translation of the official document, complete and typed, by a professional translator such as a certified translation agency; it does not accept translations by applicants, does not translate documents itself, and does not accept English versions issued by your school in place of an independent translation. You upload the translation in your WES account, so a PDF works.
The same rule for graduate applicants
The Graduate School applies the same list: WES ICAP for non-English transcripts and for Nigeria and China outside CSSD, an evaluation only on request for other countries, and original official transcripts for admission (International graduate: how to apply).
If your degree is in English but WES verification is not required, East Texas A&M may still ask for an external evaluation once it receives your transcript.
Plan for the three-month lead time: WES needs the translation and your school's documents before it can issue the ICAP.

Uploading the translation to East Texas A&M
Upload the certified translation in your WES account with your ICAP application; WES sends the evaluation to East Texas A&M, and your school sends official transcripts to Undergraduate Admissions or the Graduate School (International undergraduate: how to apply, International graduate: how to apply).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For East Texas A&M that means we translate your records for WES; the ICAP evaluation is ordered by you from WES.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
