How we know · policy checked on October 26, 2026
East Stroudsburg University (ESU) asks international undergraduates for certified copies of all secondary and post-secondary credentials and, if they are not in English, a certified literal translation; it does not say who must translate.
East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary.
Every foreign transcript also needs an official credential evaluation, preferably from a NACES member, and graduate applicants submit a course-by-course evaluation; those evaluations are something we do not provide.
ESU at a glance
Does it accept eVerbary? Yes
ESU's international undergraduate page asks for "a certified literal translation" of non-English documents, without restricting who translates (international undergraduate admissions); a certified translation from a professional service such as eVerbary is that kind of translation.
ESU's transfer page words it differently; see below. Policy checked on October 26, 2026.

Worth knowing about ESU
Literal translation
Certified, with every non-English document.
Evaluation for all
Every foreign transcript, preferably NACES.
Graduate: report only
The evaluation serves as the transcript.
ESU requirements in detail
Translation
A certified literal translation with all non-English documents (International undergraduate admissions).
Who may translate
Not stated on the international page (International undergraduate admissions); the transfer page says an approved evaluation agency (transfer).
Evaluation (undergraduate)
Required for all transcripts from a foreign secondary or post-secondary school; NACES members preferred, such as WES, IERF, FACS, ECE, Education Evaluators International and SpanTran (International undergraduate admissions).
Evaluation (graduate)
Course-by-course, preferably by WES or ECE, or any NACES member; it serves as the official transcript, so the original transcript is not sent (graduate).
Copies
Certified (official) copies of all credentials from every school attended (International undergraduate admissions).
A translation and an evaluation, for undergraduates too
ESU asks for two things for every foreign record.
The academic transcripts section requires a certified (official) copy of all credentials from every secondary or post-secondary school attended and, if non-English, a certified literal translation with all documents.
The evaluation section then requires every applicant with transcripts from a foreign school to submit an official educational credential evaluation, preferably from a NACES member; ESU lists WES, IERF, Foreign Academic Credential Service, ECE, Education Evaluators International and SpanTran as examples (International undergraduate admissions).
A literal translation keeps the order of the original, including the grading scale and stamps, which is also what the evaluation agencies ask for, so one translation can serve both.
Graduate applicants: the evaluation replaces the transcript
For graduate study, ESU treats the official course-by-course evaluation as the applicant's official transcript; you do not send the original transcript.
WES or ECE are recommended, but any NACES-accredited evaluator is accepted, and no evaluation is needed for a US degree (International graduate admissions).
Where ESU's pages differ
The international undergraduate page asks for a certified literal translation and does not say who makes it.
The transfer how-to-apply page says transcripts from foreign institutions must be translated by an approved evaluation agency. We have not resolved this; transfer applicants should ask ESU admissions which applies before ordering.

- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to ESU
Undergraduates send the certified copies with their translations to ESU with the online application, and have the evaluation agency send its report (International undergraduate admissions).
Graduate applicants send the translation to the evaluation agency with their records; ESU receives the course-by-course report (International graduate admissions).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For ESU that means we translate your records; the credential evaluation ESU requires comes from a NACES evaluation agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
Frequently asked questions
What translation does ESU require?
A certified literal translation of every non-English document (International undergraduate admissions).
Do I need an evaluation if I only finished high school abroad?
Yes. ESU requires an official credential evaluation for transcripts from any foreign secondary or post-secondary school (International undergraduate admissions).
Which evaluation companies does ESU accept?
NACES members are preferred, such as WES, IERF, FACS, ECE, Education Evaluators International and SpanTran; the list is not exhaustive (International undergraduate admissions).
Do graduate applicants send their original transcripts?
No. The course-by-course evaluation serves as the official transcript (International graduate admissions).
