How we know · policy checked on October 27, 2026
Dominican University in River Forest asks international first-year applicants for official high school transcripts emailed by the school, plus transcripts or marksheets with translations through a certified translation agency, emailed to the Director of International Enrollment; freshmen need no credential evaluation unless Dominican cannot verify the transcripts.
Dominican University accepts certified translations from professional services such as eVerbary. Transfer students from outside the US also need a credential evaluation, which is something we do not produce.

Dominican requirements in detail
Translation
Transcripts or marksheets with translations through a certified translation agency (First-year international undergraduates).
Who may translate
A certified translation agency (First-year international undergraduates).
Where to send
Email to the Director of International Enrollment, nencina@dom.edu; the official transcript is emailed directly by the school (First-year international undergraduates).
Also include
School leaving certificate, certificate of secondary education, higher secondary certificate or national exam results, and the scratch card where relevant (First-year international undergraduates).
Evaluation (freshmen)
Not required; may be requested if Dominican cannot verify the transcripts (First-year international undergraduates).
Evaluation (transfer)
Required: an Educational Perspectives Catalog Match (recommended) or a course-by-course report from Scholaro, TEC, ECE or WES (transfers from outside the US).
Freshmen: a certified agency translation, and usually nothing more
Dominican is one of the few universities that says who should translate: the transcripts or marksheets and their translations come "through a certified translation agency" and are emailed to the Director of International Enrollment (First-year international undergraduates).
With them go the leaving certificate, the certificate of secondary education or national exam results that apply in your country, and the scratch card where one is issued.
Freshmen do not submit a credential evaluation; Dominican asks for one only when it cannot verify the transcripts, so a complete, certified translation of every page saves that step.
Transfers: Catalog Match or course by course
Transfer students with college work outside the US submit official transcripts together with a credential evaluation.
Dominican recommends an Educational Perspectives Catalog Match, which compares your courses with Dominican's own catalog and can lead to direct course credit; otherwise order a course-by-course report from Scholaro or TEC (both with a 10% discount link), ECE or WES (Transfers from outside the US).
These agencies set their own translation rules; TEC asks for an ATA-certified translator, and eVerbary can provide one through a free quote.

What an eVerbary translation includes
- A complete English translation of every page, stamps, seals and handwritten notes included, laid out like the original so each line can be matched.
- Grades exactly as recorded, with the grading scale the document prints. We never convert marks to a US GPA.
- A signed certificate of translation accuracy on letterhead, with our contact details, delivered as a PDF you can upload.
- $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, certification included; 24 hours for one to three pages as standard. Regular clients who need it can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes, on request.
Uploading the translation to Dominican
Email the transcripts or marksheets and the certified agency translations to nencina@dom.edu; the school emails the official transcript directly (First-year international undergraduates).
Transfer evaluations are emailed to the same address with the official college transcript (Transfers from outside the US).
What we do not do
eVerbary is a translation service, not a credential evaluation service: we do not issue evaluations, US equivalencies or GPA conversions, and we cannot send documents on behalf of the school that issued them.
For Dominican that means we translate your records; the Catalog Match or course-by-course evaluation for transfer students comes from the agency.
How to order
- Scan or photograph every page of the document, front and back, including any stamps on the reverse.
- Upload it, choose the language and "certified", and see the price before paying.
- Receive the PDF, usually within 24 hours for one to three pages, and upload it with the copy of the original wherever the institution asks for it.
